Why is the King James Bible the correct one?

I wondered about this, how do you know this? Was King James somehow a great Saint or performed miracles, did he walk on water or have visions from God? What makes you say so unequivocally that there is only one right version of the Bible, and that it is the King James version? This has got me really baffled.

I am unsure how to say this, uhm I have heard other people say they were an authority on the Bible, namely the Catholic Church, more specifically, the Magisterium within the Church which is comprised of theologians and monks and informed by laymen etc and has thousands of years of experience, prayer and meditation behind their verdicts. They can be wrong though, so I am not siding based on that.

It is just, when someone boldly proclaims to be an authority on the Bible I become confused as to who to believe, I hope you can put yourself in the shoes of an ordinary layman and appreciate that.. It is just confusing, since either one would tend to believe all or none, out of fairness, and not make a choice, on what appears to me to be chance. Having said that, I hope you will respond, in a way that will make that less .. well painful/confusing to me, it is quite.. to be fully honest

You mention that it is the imputed righteousness of Christ that justifies us, but if that is the case, why did Jesus order us to do unto the least among us as we would have done to him, or face eternal damnation? If our works do not matter, why would Jesus tell us to visit the sick and imprisoned, feed the hungry and clothe and house the poor? If none of these things get us into heaven, why does Jesus say we need to do them to avoid eternal damnation?

The reason I came here was because a friend sent me a link which had the reasons why me and my country was going to Hell in a handbasket, which I took exception to, and joined up so I could counter that or at least give you a run for the money. I for one don't allow myself to be brought down that easily. I don't let other people take cheap shots. So that was why I first came here.

So I've since I don't partaken in different threads, mostly to prove that you were either just as bad or even worse than us, and make you focus on your own doorstep rather than those an ocean away, I know not everyone started those threads, or have even supported them, but them being allowed here alone seemed to suggest they were endorsed by the entire community, INCLUDING the Pastors.. Well what can I say it just LOOKS that way.

Anyway, I've been part of another Christian forum for years, but was banned because one of the moderators said she was living a feminist bordering on homosexual lifestyle and I said what I thought about that, and was banned. Also, there were some lazy individuals there whom I told to get their butts in gear, it was in reference to getting some exercise, and they were offended, and, one woman was stalking a man via the PM system, and I tried to help that but it blew up, against my intentions, anyway all those things combined, I was bannned.. But I liked being there.

So why am I here? I don't know. Deep down I feel I am a decent person and stand up for what is right, though I struggle with temptation, especially for worldly stuff like succes and fame (blame it on MTV lol but some truth in that, seeing sinners doesn't exactly inspire righteousness, but maybe that's just me ANYWAY!!) so I'm here trying to figure out what I must do to actually save my soul, this life and the next, and I've spent a lot of time in prayer and meditation, reflecting on the things I've had, so I've reflected a lot on the seven deadly sins when I was in Catholic circles, since that was what they taught same as I consider what you are showing me here.

Why am I here? Because a friend posted that link. And trying to do the decent thing, as best I can, which is not a lot, hence, my name.

How did you know the woman was a lesbian? Haven't you told the women on here that they should be more like feminists?

As for a woman being stalked through the PM system, the only people who would know this, would be the woman being stalked, the stalker and moderators. Well since we know you weren't a moderator, and you're not a woman, that only leaves one person in the scenario you could of possibly been. And after the way you've acted towards people on this board, I wouldn't be surprised.

As for saving your soul, if you had shown up and asked, we would of helped you. Instead you showed up, called all the men gay or perverts (or both) and hit on all the women. You post papist propaganda, even in this very thread. You are on a very, very wrong path. The only way of saving your soul is for you to pick up a KJV 1611 Bible and start reading it. Then and only then could you even consider saving your soul. Well that and stop with the papist crap.

No actually she said very clearly that she liked to be the boss around the house, and tell her husband what to do, and have him be the compliant one.

I don't know about the sports thing, it's weird I grew up with it being very important to be sporty for the girls to be interested in you I am not sure how it all fits together, I bought some American magazines called 'Muscle and Fitness', which gave me the idea that was the way to go. What with seemed popular in the movies and among girls I figure that's the way to go.. but it seems to be well complicated, it's own little slice of hell but I'm guessing that's just me, I don't know.

The reason I knew about that was because I'd been having private conversations with the woman, she was forty-three I think and very nice, so I PM'ed her and we ended up talking about all sorts of things, pertaining to God and some things I guess well though I never stood a chance, not so Godly, anyway she kept talking about this other forum member, over and over, over and over, so one day I finally PM him and ask him about his side of the story, and he says she's been stalking him and shows me some stuff she sent him, and then I try and say to her that she has to stop it, she sends that to the moderators and bam I am banned for interfering in other people's lives, when I tried to set something right. What is more, I lost the best spiritual mother I've ever had, Mother Carol, who I still remember so fondly, she was and is just amazing, even if she is only a 'Catlyk' to you, don't get me started on that you ..

The reason I showed up here was because of the God Hates threads that are posted here, which are being ping-ponged around the world for people's amusement, and I happened to get one of those forwarded links, the I learnt about BibleThumpinBlonde (yes that was a bit wrong, I acknowledge that, again, looking at her for the sake of appearances..) was married to an old guy when she was fourteen, and has a son with him (all I can say is eww though the son isn't to blame) and Reverent Osmond at sixty-plus marrying a twenty-year old, still more a teen than adult in mind, that's my take. So I figured since a Pastor was allowed to do that, what would have been considered a BLEMISH on our good standing over here, and that a beautiful spirited girl like BibleThumpinBlonde was married to an old (fart) sorry but that's how it looked that you were all like that, and HTannor showed interest in a twenty-three-year-old when he is clearly like fifty or sixty, so what was I supposed to think huh? Asking some more around clarified that misunderstanding, which I'm glad I did or I would never have known, because you sure aren't quick to post the normal stuff around here, if I can say that much.. Yeah I mean that..

Going back to the original topic, I really can't understand this obsession some Christians have with the KJV. Translation methods have improved greatly since the 17th century, and I think God would like the Bible to be as meaningful and up-to-date as possible.

The NIV and the Good News Bible are excellent translations, but nothing quite beats the beautiful poetry contained in Eugene Peterson's 'The Message'.

Next thing you would want to have the King James Bible written in cellphone test.

Going back to the original topic, I really can't understand this obsession some Christians have with the KJV. Translation methods have improved greatly since the 17th century, and I think God would like the Bible to be as meaningful and up-to-date as possible.

The NIV and the Good News Bible are excellent translations, but nothing quite beats the beautiful poetry contained in Eugene Peterson's 'The Message'.

If the Bible can be mistranslated it basically means God doesn't exist friend as Christians understand Him. You can't have the incompetence of a mortal agent thwarting the will God and then claim God is all powerful and perfect.

A group of clerics during the reign of King James (a purported homosexual, by the way) wished to gain favor with the court, so they named the translation of the Bible they were working on after him - nothing like stroking the royal ego to get you favors from the king.

The KJV is not the only valid version of the Bible.
A group of clerics during the reign of King James (a purported homosexual, by the way) wished to gain favor with the court, so they named the translation of the Bible they were working on after him - nothing like stroking the royal ego to get you favors from the king.

Again; if man can twist The World of God then how can God be God?

The technically accuracy of one translation over another is useless if God doesn't exist. At that point The Bible stops being a moral guide and becomes a historical curiosity.

So, you're saying that, since it is the Word of God, man cannot corrupt it, and never write a false Bible, or what.. In that case seems you are saying that ALL Bibles are valid, because God wrote them, and not man. I know that isn't what you're saying so could you explain it in more detail, as I am struggling to make out the meaning.

You couldn't be more wrong. You false Christians really burn my britches, and you infuriate Jesus when you blaspheme like that. Read my sermon and THEN make this argument. I double-dog-dare you.
