Senator Deck Durbin (D) Denied Wafers

Like California, Illinois is one of those states that has been run by Democrats for so long they are on the verge of financial collapse. Jesus has already seen fit to permanently affix the look of a village idiot on the Illinois Democrat Senator Dick (Head) Durbin, but the voters keep electing him (or maybe we should say the dead in Chicago keep voting for him).

The cathylicks have had plenty of opportunity over the past half-century to deny wafers or otherwise excommunicate a long line of cathylick Democrat politicians for killing babies and yet failed to do so.

For the most part 'ol Dick (Head) Durbin would rarely rise above the noise level when it comes to the cathylicks (and Democrats), but inquiring minds would like to know - why start now? Is this a sign that the papists are finally getting "religion"? Is 'ol Dick so repulsive that someone had to do something?

One has to commend Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki for at least having the courage to take a stand, but from the history of the papists it's probably just some window dressing.

Catholic Bishop Denies Communion to Pro-Abortion Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin: “Until He Repents of His Sin”
National Steven Ertelt Feb 22, 2018 | 12:30PM Washington, DC

Pro-life Catholics who wish Catholic Church leaders would step up and deny communion to leading politicians who support abortion are getting good news today.

One Catholic bishop is denying communion to pro-abortion Democrat Dick Durbin, a top Democrat in the Senate who has long supported and promoted abortion. Durbin joined other Democrats to block a bill banning abortions after 20 weeks.

Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois says Durbin is “cooperating in evil” and persisting in “manifest grave sin” because of his abortion advocacy and must therefore “not be admitted to Holy Communion until he repents of his sin.”

In a statement on the Diocese of Springfield website, Bishop Paprocki said, “Fourteen Catholic senators voted against the bill that would have prohibited abortions starting at 20 weeks after fertilization, including Sen. Richard Durbin, whose residence is in the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois.”

    . . . .

A 2013 letter from Pope Francis says pro-abortion politicians should not be eligible for communion in the Catholic Church.

In the letter, Pope Francis directed the Argentinean bishops to govern the Church there following the Aparecida Document.

The text states, in part, “[people] cannot receive Holy Communion and at the same time act with deeds or words against the commandments, particularly when abortion, euthanasia, and other grave crimes against life and family are encouraged. This responsibility weighs particularly over legislators, heads of governments, and health professionals.”

“These are the guidelines we need for this time in history,” the pope wrote to the bishops.

Catholic Bishop Denies Communion to Pro-Abortion Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin: “Until He Repents of His Sin”

      From the Vatican archives: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG1104/__P57.HTM

      The Code of Canon Law
      TITLE VI.
Canon 751 defines these three crimes: “Heresy is the obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after Baptism of a truth which must be believed by divine and Catholic faith. Apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith. Schism is the withdrawal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff or from communion with the members of the Church subject to him.”

Can. 1371 The following are to be punished with a just penalty:
      1º in addition to the case mentioned in can. 1364, §1, a person who teaches a doctrine condemned by the Roman Pontiff or an ecumenical council or who obstinately rejects the doctrine mentioned in can. 750, §2 or in can. 752 and who does not retract after having been admonished by the Apostolic See or an ordinary;

2º a person who otherwise does not obey a legitimate precept or prohibition of the Apostolic See, an ordinary, or a superior and who persists in disobedience after a warning.

DELICTS AGAINST HUMAN LIFE AND FREEDOM (Cann. 1397 - 1398)

Can. 1397 A person who commits a homicide or who kidnaps, detains, mutilates, or gravely wounds a person by force or fraud is to be punished with the privations and prohibitions mentioned in ⇒ can. 1336 according to the gravity of the delict. Homicide against the persons mentioned in ⇒ can. 1370, however, is to be punished by the penalties established there.

Can. 1398 A person who procures a completed abortion incurs a latae sententiae excommunication.

I expect to see a burning at the stake. Nothing less would convince me of the sincerity of the action of the social society of the vicar of Rome.

I don't understand Catholics at all. A United States Senator is one of the most powerful figures in the world. And, the Catholics won't give him a wafer?

What the church officials should do is make a deal with him like President Trump would do--give him some positive reinforcement. They should say, "Look Senator, it really hurts us priests to give you a wafer. You are sinning. So, here's a wafer anyway. Stop sinning and next time we'll give you two.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
