    I don't mean this to be offensive, I just want to say that God and Christ wanted peace, but you so-called "Christians" are destroying that. I don't hate you guys at Landover. In fact, you guys seem pretty cool if you take away the fact that you hate anyone who isn't White Baptist.

      About the peace thing. It's normal for a tribe to protect what it considers most important, wheter it is a big box of beer, or your beliefs.

        You never knew God or Jesus in person. Who knows. Maybe they only wanted to be popular among the tribe.

          You didn't bother to read this thread from the beginning, did you. Those who worship Mary cannot call themselves Christians. Nowhere in the Bible are we commanded to pray to Jesus' mommy, nor to any statues.

              One of the many theroies about the origins of the "Virgen Maria" (as is most known in the catholic culture) is that it became a symbol, created by the spanish monks who came to Mexico city, in the early years of que "Conquista" (better known as that time everyone from europe started to move to that new continent).
              The monk catholic authorities wanted to purge the natives from their weird and colorful religion. They worshipped deitys and other stuff like the sun, and when the monks showed them their religion, they didn't quite understood. So the monks created this character "La Virgen Maria", with brown skin and outfits that the locals usually wore.

              The natives fell in love with her and the catholics scored.

              There are other virgins, across the globe, pretty much the same origins, only different places and different skin color.

                I know I'm on some kind of double secret probation right now,but I would like to say that actually you all are making some excellent points about the origins and manipulation of the early Christ based religious cults.Now I think I'll head down to my local methodist congegration foe the best cassaroles known to man!

                      They know Mary is the name of a character of the Bible, the mother of Jesus. They simply used her to atract the natives to their religion.

                      The Holy Virgin Mary served as a proxy from the monks to the tribes, and helped the conquest of the whole damn continent and basically created the culture many people lives are affected still today.

                        I think I understand. The Catholic church uses Mary as a propaganda tool in order to entice slow-witted middle and lower equatorian peoples to disregard their aboriginal pagan rituals for Catholic rituals. I think I remember Jesus teaching about that.

                            WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - None of these is mentioned in the Bible. It is a sin to add to the Bible.


                            Not to start any form of argument or controversy...but if I am not mistaken, the bible was written by man...thus that statement would make us seem to be all following a band of sinners. Now I can see the logic in a lot of these....but that one just fails to make sense to me.

                                I'm actually not a Catholic...my father is. I have little respect for them from personal experience. I think you may have misread my statement.

                                What I had meant was that the bible was written by man, correct? So how is adding things to it a sin?

                                (I don't promote cracker worship...that's silly.)

                                Maybe I worded it funny. At any rate...it was to find an answer to how the now slightly reworded question makes any sense.
