  • The Julian Calendar or the Gregorian Calendar?

A propos of nothing in particular, nephew Zebul mentioned that he was surprised that the Church uses the Gregorian calendar as opposed to the Julian Calendar. His point was that the Julian calendar was invented by Julius Caesar in 46 BC, and thus Christ was born in the years of the Julian calendar and His Mission was counted by it also.

Apparently, the Gregorian calendar, on the other hand was invented by Pope Gregory XIII who, from his picture looks Jewish to me but was obviously Catholic.

The result of this change from Julian to Gregorian was that Wednesday, 2 September 1752 (Julian) was followed by Thursday, 14 September 1752. (Gregorian). The World, as God designed it, lost 11 whole days and everyone alive then died young - cheated of those days. “Who knows what great revelations their might have been from Wednesday, 2 September 1752 through 14 September 1752.?” Zebulun asked, and, looking around to see who might be listening, he whispered, “Perhaps the Pope did…” and he nodded knowingly…

This was taking on a new dimension!

I ventured, “Only Satan could pull such a trick! So, the suggestion has to be that the change from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar was a Catholic plot to prevent God from giving us a Revelation and to stoke the Fires of Hell with 11 times the normal daily amount?”

“You must draw your own conclusions, Unky, but it may go beyond that.” He replied, “You are wiser and older than I.”

I sat back in silence for a while. “But this guy Julius Caesar… He was a pagan, right?”

Zebulun’s eyebrows raised a little and he nodded as said, “He was indeed… Which do you prefer, Unky? The Catholic or the pagan?”

“The pagan!” was my instant and obvious answer. “He is simply ignorant of God’s Truth, whereas the damnable Catlick knows God’s Truth but acts and speaks against it!”

“So, Although you cannot send a Christian, as Christ has, as yet, not appeared on earth, if you were God, who, back in the day, would have been your messenger?”

    “A pagan! Julius Caesar!”

“Exactly, Unky! Today is Friday 30th July 2021, but by the Gregorian Calendar is Saturday 17 July 2021. I suggest that you speak to the other Pastors and Pastor Zeke on the matter. This time, chose a Saturday for the changeover because that’ll cause two Sundays to appear (Two consecutive days of praising God and tithing), get one of the computer gurus to change all dates and the job’s done. Landover will, as usual, demonstrate fearless cutting edge Christianity to the world and God.”

I felt renewed in Spirit and Faith: I gave Zebulun $15,000 in spontaneous gratitude and now I offer the idea to the Pastors and the representative members of the Congregation of Landover.

Do eastern orthodox creeds use the Julian Calendar for their dates? They did excommunicate all popes in 1054, meaning the papists are a splinter group since there are quite a few orthodoxes. What religion Khadija bint Khuwaylid before she married Mohammed? Perhaps there's some influence there.
