Only two of the Gospels (Matthew and Luke) give the ancestry of Jesus. And they don't match up. Honestly.
It's a simple observation... I can't believe I've never noted it odd before.
From Abraham, they only agree on 14 generations. Everything from the disagreement of David's son (Matthew says Soloman, Luke says Nathan)doesn't match up.
Luke lists about 41 generations between David and Jesus, while Matthew gives about 28. Don't you find that odd?
I've yet to do a few calculations and check out any other source, but as George Gershwin said, "The things that you're li'ble / To read in the bible / It ain't necessarily so".
Personally, my annalysis is that Matthew and Luke were just eager to fulfil Old Testament Prophecies. Neither of them actually had a clue about the ancestry of Jesus.
