I suspect the cactus seeds had been brought in on airplanes that brought the missionaries.

Could be, brother Bathfire - they don't seem to have survived to the present day, however. At least there is a photographic record.

Update: Donald Trump (and therefore the Republican Party) has given a shout-out to Charles Lindberg's movement by coining his slogan: AMERICA FIRST!

I know it looks like the eagle is sodomizing him, but this is the best image I could find.

Oh, and here's a reason Dr. Seuss books should be banned and burned:

Donald realized early on that Charles Lindberg's way of uniting the white race with America was the path to Making America Great Again.

Personally, I am confident that if Donald Trump would have been alive at the time of Lindberg, he, rather than Lindberg, would have been the first pilot to have crossed the Atlantic. Donald is a Lindberg kind of hero.

Not only would he have gotten there first, but his plane would have a tasteful marble interior:
He took out a $400 million loan, personally guaranteeing $100 million of that, to buy the Eastern Air Shuttle for $365 million—even though the company itself had just valued the shuttle at $300 million. Talking to reporters, he compared this, too, to the Mona Lisa. He wanted to decorate the insides of the planes with marble before being told that would make them too heavy to fly.

If it's one thing that Democrats love to do, it's to kill white people - and you'll never find a Democrat say anything like "White Lives Matter". Democrats have gotten us into more wars by far than any Republican.

Democrats Call Republicans Warmongers But More Wars Have Been Started Under Dems
via Betty Butter on September 9th, 2013 in Politics

              . . .

According to Seymour Hersh’s book “The Dark Side of Camelot,” Democratic John F. Kennedy’s true legacy is the Vietnam War.

After serving out the remainder of Kennedy’s term, unelected, Democratic Vice President Lyndon Johnson was elected with the help of a television commercial that portrayed Republican Barry Goldwater as a warmonger. That year, 200 troops had died in Vietnam under Johnson. Once he was elected, he began to escalate a never declared war (that Kennedy started). Over the next four years 36,540 American soldiers would lose their lives.

The Persian Gulf Conflict is the only war in the 20th Century not carried out under a Democratic president.

Democratic Woodrow Wilson was president when 116,708 American soldiers lost their lives in WWI. Democratic Franklin Roosevelt sent over 500,000 men to their deaths in WWII.

And Harry Truman sent over 36,000 men to their deaths in the Korean war.

              . . .
              Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
              ...and get off my lawn
