  • I have a dilema, and need advice!

Today I was explaining children history of the world and my son asked me who was Stalin (Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin) and if he was a good man.

And I just did not know what to answer!

On the another hand Stalin killed so many jews during the war, that he could be considered as good person.

But on the opposite way he was an ugly comunist fellow, who hated crist....

Please pastors, save me from dilema!

From what I understand you at the same time approve Jew killing and yet at the same time condemn him for refusing the Word. In Poland where my parish is currently located everyone hates Stalin for being a godless prick and yet on the other hand they love him as much as Hitler for saving them from the Jews. When I asked them what exactly is their opinion then they just shrugged and continued walking. I suggest you send your child to me and I will talk to him or her as Father and son/daughter.

Well it seems he redeemed himself somewhat with the Jew killings. If Christ wasn't in his heart he was at least doing the Lord's work and should be commended.

Esther 3:13 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

          RE Stalin;
The man was an atheist and was damned for all eternity without remission.

For a man, Works are of no account. The single requisite is that he accept Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified .

There is an exception for women. This is because it is the duty of women to be helpful

1Tm:5:9: Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,
1Tm:5:10: Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

However, even these works must be based upon Faith in Christ.

Stalin was not Russian but was from Georgia, and not the good one where so many abide in Christ. I apologise for pointing that out to you here, Brother Jones, but I am still stained with the effects of a pointless education and need to stick my nose and correct information all the time. If you need to rebuke me harshly I will understand.*

Remember, Stalin did not kill Jews for what they did to Our Lord and he hated the Lord besides. He just happened to hate the Jews and not for any of the right reasons.

Stalin was also against his citizens owning guns for themselves, which is a pretty serious affront to the Lord just in itself. It is wonderous how the Lord was still able to use this unbelieving person to do a bit of His Will on earth. Remember, God used even the occasional harlot to help out His righteous ones. If a harlot, who is especially vile in God's Sight, can be useful then a mass-murderer is a reasonable tool for Him to direct for His purpose.

You deserve rebuke because you shove your education in people's facing citing the mundane things that have little use anywhere but in your own mind. You feign humility, but your words drip with pride.

              James 4:6:
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

You may think that you're a wise person because you can spout off facts, but all of it is useless in the eyes of God. I study the word of God and live by it in everything I do. God's word is worth more than the education anyone can give you.

Joshua 1:8: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Proverbs 23:13

Amen, brother. I needed that. And I always appreciate when the Bible verses are set up in pretty colors, sometimes it's hard to accept the ugly truth about oneself, pretty colors aways help.

Words are one thing. Actions are another. Once you realize that this is not a game and we're here to save souls, the closer you will come to God. I honestly pity such a pathetic excuse for a person. You're so full of yourself that you don't realize what a fool you truly are. I'll believe that you've started actually listening to God speaking to you when you actually start to show it.

Stalin = Godless communist pagan. He attempted to kill the Cathlicks and jews, but failed in his crusade. Also, he smelt like stale cigars, crappy antifreeze vodka, and old, warmed caviar. Nobody likes that and for that he shall burn in hell!

As happenstance would have it (or rather by the grace of God as any Real Christian doesn't believe in chance) our congregation was congregating in some northern Godless borough (inconsequential enough that I can't recall the name of said hamlet) rebuking sinners of every sort. As loud and vociferous as we were, castigating gays, cathliks, lieberals, non-whites, etc., there was one among us that was (unbeknownst to me at the time) not one of us. He had to have been moved by the Lord as his epithets were most scornful and resonant.

I asked our dear pastor who this most estimable soldier of God was. Pastor Finsterbum confided in me that this man was not yet saved. He told me had yet to receive the Holy Spirit but that although he doesn't yet believe in the Lord, the Lord believes in him.

If only Stalin had someone as insightful as our dear pastor to bear witness to him.
