  • Yuri Gagarin, true American hero

Today is the 50th anniversary of America's space race victory, when American Yuri Gagarin helped America became the first nation to put a man into space.

Sure, his name sounds like pee and rotting limbs, but I'd still ride his rocket...

So let's have an all-American shout of praise for America's proudest son!

    Wonderful man.

So let's have an all-American shout of praise for America's proudest son!
Yuri A. Gagarin was born on a collective farm in a region west of Moscow, Russia on March 9, 1934. His father was a carpenter. Yuri attended the local school for six years and continued his education at vocational and technical schools. Yuri Gagarin joined the Russian Air Force in 1955 and graduated with honors from the Soviet Air Force Academy in 1957. Soon afterward, he became a military fighter pilot. By 1959, he had been selected for cosmonaut training as part of the first group of USSR cosmonauts.
Yuri Gagarin flew only one space mission. On April 12, 1961 he became the first human to orbit Earth. Major Yuri Gagarin's spacecraft, Vostok 1, circled Earth at a speed of 27,400 kilometers per hour. The flight lasted 108 minutes. At the highest point, Yuri Gagarin was about 327 kilometers above Earth.
Once in orbit, Yuri Gagarin had no control over his spacecraft. Vostok's reentry was controlled by a computer program sending radio commands to the space capsule. Although the controls were locked, a key had been placed in a sealed envelope in case an emergency situation made it necessary for Yuri Gagarin to take control. As was planned, Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin ejected after reentry into Earth's atmosphere and landed by parachute.

And the American connection would be?

Frankly I'm just surprised they didn't claim that Jesus came down and carried him up bodily into space. This is progress!

ALL HE DID WAS SIT! I DIDN"T EVEN PUSH BUTTONS! JUST SIT! Why are you ladies always gushing over astronaughts, all they do is sit, and we know for a fact that the moonshot thing was pure hollywood propaganda. So why do you keep passing by me, a real man, for a guy who sits and doesn't even push buttons? At least firefighters hold on to a hose now and then, but what do ass-tronots do? Nothing!

Why do think it was called the Mercury Program if it wasn't divinely inspired?

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Frankly, I find it maddening that the LIEberal media has so completely re-written history that some of the more gullible out there honestly believe that Yuri was a godless rooskie.

I mean REALLY, do you think that a bunch of wheat-starved half-slant God-mocking COMMONists could do something as glorious as launching a man into the clouds?
