    Besides maths aside, sunbeams proves too that sun is very close.
    The maths is incorrect, I apologise for correcting the OP but it is.

    But heat travels as infra red and the Sun's heat is UV radiation.

    Even if you say 'sunbeams' are what travels the suns heat they still could of travelled millions of miles as it is light. We get light from stars which are even further away.

      I'm no physicist, but I remember when I took high-school physics, I learned how to calculate the gravitational force of planets (that includes the sun and the earth), based on these variables:

      Fg = G (m1*m2)/(d^2)

      The distance between the sun is used as a variable. And it was written to be more than 500 miles.

        That is very easy. Just read this thread here and see it yourself.

          But I asked you to prove that it was correct. Simply showing it again won't prove it's validity. And did you take a look at the formula I posted? You might like to give that a chance as well, seeing as how it also uses what is believed to be the distance between the sun and the earth

            Yes but the maths used in the original post is incorrect. He uses variables that cannot measure distance.

              Sorry brother but i am a physicist, and that equation is wrong, for a start it only works in air, and space is a vaccum, and he is asuming that only visible light leaves the sun but infact it is infa-red, uv gamma microwave and x ray all leave the sun too and these are the parts that actually convey heat also there are solar particles with massive kinetic energy that convey heat as there are many pounding the earth all the time, so this whole maths is totaly wrong, and it would take a 10th grade student to work out that it is. Why challange the position of the sun it is clear god placed it where it is for a reason somthing these science trash dont realise!!

                Geez. I'm sure that next you will tell us that you believe in dark matter and gravity too.

                  Excuse me, good sir. But what is your opinion of the formula I posted? Do you believe it is just as, if not more accurate the the OP's post?

                    Brother, i do not believe in dark matter it is an invention for a fonminan that can be explained another way! but gravity i do believe in i belive it was created by god so as to keep everything in its rightful palce just like you should keep women in their rightful place

                      God created gravity we can see it happening. Science can't fully explain it as God created it but it is still there, God made it to keep everything in its place.

                        I couldn't agree more granyaski! god is my saviour and the time will come when he will see the effort us true men of science put not only in the force behind our fists that keep our wives in place but also in ensuring that the humans realise their place before him! Science only discovers the tools by which he works not his wonders! But let us not fight brothers because made us all equal enless you are black, homosexual, transgender, muslim, antithesis or female! He died for our sins

                          There is no such thing as gravity. There is only theory of gravity. Maybe funniest thing secular science has come up with. Well, at least they got the theory part right. It is very theoretic.

                            @Alphonse:

                            I'm sorry if I didn't include it before, but the distance used in the formula, was (I believe) 9.2x10 to the 7th power in miles. I believe that's about 92 million miles, though I could be a bit off on that.

                            Please, tell me if the formula/distance used in my physics course is more accurate than the OP's formula

                                That indeed brother is where god positioned the sun and the correct maths Praise jesus for his holy choice!
