And I wasn't accusing you of the hating having words put into your mouth thing. But you just backed up my argument. You are putting words into the Lord's mouth. Did he actually tell you that the universe is constructed in that way? Certainly not! You are making assumptions. When God created the universe, wouldn't he have desired to make it as elegent as possible? Probably! That's mathematics-the language of the universe. I would definitely agree that he created the universe with mathematics and then gave us the ability to decipher it.

I am not saying that the Bible is wrong. Because I have accepted science into my life, I don't see an absolute truth. However, what I'm saying is you should be open to other answers. Who are any of you to say what's right and what's wrong? Who am I to say any of that? Who are we to say what the word of God is? Maybe the word of God lies in mathematics! In fact, he created the universe and the universe is governed by mathematics! I think that is humbling to know. That God, our intelligent creator, has the knowledge and power to create something so beautiful.

I too, studied science. I (many years ago) got a Masters in Organic Chemistry. I too, knew God and the Book of Truths, the Holy Bible, was the one and only possible explanation for everything. But to be fair and to not waste the gift of Free Will, I studied the sciences.
What I found were possible explanations for everything. But no singular answer. Science simply is incapable of doing that. A lot of 'theories'.
So, after several years, I had a reasonable understanding of science on one hand and the Holy Bible on the other. I was put to task to make the most important decision of my life. Do I go with a lot of mere men, place my everlasting life in their hands, basing everything on a hunch or do I go with guaranteed Salvation and pure Truths provided by God.
So by giving everything a fair and balanced view, I made the only one logical choice.

Wrong. God has clearly said that even with wisdom and studying the whole universe it's impossible to understand the universe. You may think you do, but you don't.

We're not putting words into God's mouth; we're using His own Word, the Holy Bible. God said He made the universe in six days.

Ex 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God explains how He created the universe through the power of His Word (Gen 1:1-2:25).

Secular math cannot be reconciled with Biblical math. According to the Bible, pi equals three.

1 Ki 7:23 And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

We know God personally through His revealed Word. What kind of a god does math reveal?

This thread contains great stuff for my homeschooling of my 4 boys! While I've repeatedly said that the Earth IS flat I've missed some valuable points to convince them. Thanks and blessings to all True Christians who've contributed to this thread.

I have noticed several debates on this particular subject here. To all you godless atheists out there, let's settle this once and for all...

In the modern world it has become a widely spread lie that the earth is round. Of course, this is impossible. If the earth is round, then why don't people just fall off at the bottom?

The answer is simple: The Earth is not round!

Now, if we take a look at some scripture, it clearly tells us the earth is not round but flat:

Jeremiah 16:19:
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

According to Jeremiah 16:19, the earth has ends. There is no way a spherical earth could have ends, and therefore the earth must be flat. The Book of Revelation tells a similar story:

Revelation 7:1:
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

A spherical earth cannot have corners, it is scientifically impossible. The only logical explanation is that the earth is flat. Checkmate atheists!

Isaiah 40:22:
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Sun has nothing to do with night and day. Light was created before the sun. Sun follows the day, not the other way around.

Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

If you look carefully you can see that the pictures are photoshopped ;D What nonsense. The Earth is completely round and is not flat haha, are you living in the 1800's? God might have created the universe but hell no he made Earth flat... There is a reason why we have timezones, do you seriously think that it is all controlled by The Lord You are funny, have you ever gone to school??

CLEARLY you can see the horizon... It's a level of willful ignorance that I find very hard to relate to. If you so dearly want to know what shape the world is send your own camera up and take your own pictures it only costs a few hundred dollars...

Ohh and I think you deserve this, fun fact: one in four Americans believe the Sun revolves around the Earth,.
