Just a query though, what would you do if NASA agreed to put you in a space rocket, take you out to outer orbit and look upon earth and you saw with your very own eyes the earth WAS round, not flat.

its absurd of you to think its absurd. water does not come out of the bucket if spun round at a fast rate. please try it you will be amazed. i believe in god however not all of what is written in the bible can not be taken as fact. man has made changes to it. or maybe god said that at the time to help with mans understanding. introducing ideas such as spherical would of been to confusing to some one back then. however since man has advanced he has allowed us to discover things for our selves such as a spherical earth. the more advanced we become, the more we uncover amazing god is. it keeps our belief going other wise we have nothing new to look forward to

just as most people here are skeptical about the earth being round, i too am skeptical about the bible solely coming from God. you take the parts of the bible that teach us values. and if you behave accordingly then you will go to heaven. regardless of weather the earth is round or not doesn't affect the way you conduct your self and treat other people on a daily basis.

i dont think God is an over protective parent who babies us all the time. he wants us to find things out for ourselves. its not the fun parts, its details that would of been confusing. a better analogy would be if you have a job and your employer wants you to pant a fence but you dont fully understand how to so he gets you to paint a box first to see how paint goes on and is applied

But he has told us multiple times in the Bible and through out history, that to be Saved(c) and go to Heaven, you must follow all of the Bible. Friend, what you are describing is 'Free Will'. Of course God gave us it. He wants us to make choices on our own. But he has told us multiple times in the Bible and through out history, that to be Saved© and go to Heaven, you must follow all of the Bible. You do not have to follow the Bible, you can go to Hell if you want. Your choice, your Free Will.

if we followed the bible through to every last word then wouldnt we be perfect? and isnt only Jesus perfect? the difference is you believe every word in the bible i do not. any reference to following all the bible mentioned in the bible is an example where i would question the credibility of it. does not sound like some thing a God who loves me would say. thats a pretty big ultimatum. if i believe in God and follow his teachings then i will go to heaven.

No, man will never be perfect.

We can strive for perfection but being a mortal being, we will always fall short. God knows this and takes it into account. He knows if we try our best and do not succumb to weakness, then we have pleased our Heavenly Father. But to flat out ignore parts of His teachings because you do not like them, will not fly with Him.
