There's a difference, the silver dollar's landscape doesn't change. If what you're claiming is true wouldn't we just see the same static image of every planet? (That doesn't happen by the way.)

if the earth is flat then why cant you see europe in pictures of the earth from space when viewing the Western hemisphere (north and south america)?

That's not what I was trying to say, I realize you can change the face of a silver dollar. But if you were to put it in space it would look like a static 2-dimensional circle. Yes the planets look 2-dimensional as well, but that's just a property of a sphere, from any outside vantage point it looks like a circle. BUT as it's rotational period progresses you see different parts of the planet that weren't visible before. Why is that, if everything the planet is, is always in full view? As would be true, if what you claim is correct. One more thing why does every planet just "happen" to face us, shouldn't we be able to see some planets sideways then?

No, I don't need to have faith to watch a satellite being launched into space, equipped with a camera I saw built into it. But sure, I have faith in science because it's the only rational explanation for anything we see. Wouldn't that say the same for you? Considering the bible an axiom, and basing everything you believe off of it, when you have no idea if it's the word of God or not?

Well, the only planet I can see is the moon and it always looks exactly the same to me.

Because God made it so. It would of been a bit pointless for Him to of made those lifeless places and then set them on edge so we could not see the efforts of creation, wouldn't it?

You have faith because you think it is the only rational explanation? How long have these satellites been around? Rumor has it a scant 50 years whereas God has always been around, doing miracles every day. His Bible is written proof of that, your life is proof of that. I have never seen a satellite. A few people claim they exist. Ones that profit from them too. Think about it.

Heres an experiment for you. Take a ruler. This represents your line of sight from any one point on earth. Now take a basketball. This represents the earth. Place that ruler on the basketball. Obviously it does not wrap around the basketball just as your line of sight does not extend forever accross the surface of the earth.

You mentioned the three experiments, inferring all of them had these holes. I referred to just one, showing the absurdity of your statement. How about this one. Go to your kitchen table and put a penny down on one end and another at the opposite end. These two pennies represent the US and Europe respectively. If you place a ruler in between them (representing your line of sight), the ruler would pass through both pennies just as your line of sight should in real life if the earth was flat. Why can't you see europe if you look out accross the atlantic ocean while standing on the beach. Even with a telescope you can't.

How can the experiments I devised have holes in them if they prove the Earth is flat every time? No, the experiments would be a failure if you got different results each time. The scientific method requires a hypothesis (the Earth is flat) and an experiment (my 3 experiments) to get a conclusion (the Earth is indeed flat.). You need to accept the fact that the experiments do indeed show the Earth is flat. You can't deny scientific experiments and proof just because they don't conform to your worldview.

No, that is precisely the problem you people are causing! The Bible is the Word of God, and the Bible says the Earth is flat. By denying the Earth is flat, you are denying the inerrancy of the Bible. You are essentially saying that God's Word has holes in it.

If the Bible is wrong about the earth being flat, what else could it be wrong about? Did Moses part the Red Sea? Did he receive the ten commandments? Was Jesus born of virgin birth? Did Jesus even exist at all? Don't you see the slippery slope that entails?

The only conclusion therefore is the Bible is correct and anybody trying to prove the Earth is a sphere is misguided, stupid, and trying to erode faith.

Ok first of all Jimmy, if the earth is flat then people would fall off the edge. show me anything from this century that reports people falling off the edge of the world. Second of all your experiments do not follow the scientific methd whatsoever because all of these so called experiments require a control and test subject. you have provided none. You asked why is it that you dont move when you jump on solid ground but you would fall out of the bed of a pickup? It is because of wind resistance. When you jump on solid ground there is little to no wind pushing you in any direction. When standing in the bed of a pickup there is wind pushing on you in the opposite direction of movement. This is why you need to lean forward to compensate for that. If you were to jump while moving in the truck you would indeed be left behind but your body would still be traveling in the same direction as the pickup truck, although slower because of wind resistance, would you not?
