You sound like one of those superstitious artsy-fartsy women who goes around spouting things like "The Essence of the All is the Godhead of the True".

The KJV will enable you to cast aside your blind, unthinking superstition and come to His Beloved Presence. Try it, dear. We will pray for you.

Even after all these years, still a theory. No ones been in space like you think. Newton's book, Principia, is nothing but if statements (like anything, look for original) surrounded by the idea earth is a globe.

If the earth is flat, those people who go up in spacecrafts where it is clearly seen to be round are what, hallucinating?
No, they're just part of the problem selling the lies to get more of your money with fish eye lenses and good artistry. Here's a previous post with references, please take a look, do your research. Also, just a quick one...red bull jump, watch when he opens the door, FLAT horizon. There are a number of people who have sent up there own balloons and rockets...check it out, dare ya!!

There's an extra dimension we can't perceive. Put an ant on a ball, it will walk all the way around, thinking it's on an infinite flat surface. We, are like ants on the ball.
Dimension we can't perceive? Witchcraft. Besides, doesn't exist. Trust your own senses.

You left a rather glaring omission there too. If Earth is flat, what about the edge? Why has no one ever fallen off or even seen the edge? What's supposed to be on the other side?
We're surrounded by a wall of ice. Look into Antarctica explorers (before the 1900's, well, Op High Jump should be on your list too but don't start with that one). A few have calculated it to be over 70,000 miles. Bring on the GPS, got that too and not enough time. Check military bases an notice how they don't go passed a certain latitude. Also, look at the "division of the land," makes more sense on a flat earth. Not supposed to pull from it but the Book of Enoch tells of venturing out the "dome" and he describes a nothingness beyond. Also gives description of what we're in and the mechanics of it.

Ha. The only thing glaring is your utter persistence to prove the Bible wrong. Rely on your logic, fine...just, at least, do your own research. Don't rely on the knowledge given to you by those in power. They don't care about you (too much fluoride in your water, hope you're filtering). Look, I understand it's a lot to take in, to believe that you've been lied to all these years and what about...truth hurts but hell is going to hurt worse.

One more that opened up my eyes to this (there are so many examples), is flight durations. If the "globe" is spinning at ~1100mph (at the equator) then how is it the same amount of time traveling east or west? Commercial planes go no faster than 500mph. Traveling east, you'd never make your destination. I'll pull from red bull again, if the earth was spinning how did he land so close to his take off point? There are more holes in your theory than you realize. Again, lean on your logic, fine but at least show some signs of intelligence with it. Then, when you realize your errors, come back, take the next step in your salvation. You're already here, "playing with fire" which is really just your own salvation.

Grass is greener. Don't take my word for it though, look for yourself.

One of my 9-year-olds offers this tip for the future, dear. If you are doing a calculation like that, with the data in metric units, and you want the result in proper American units, then:

    1. Do the calculation in metric.
    2. Convert the result to American.

James says you will find this a lot quicker than your usual method, though the result will still be nonsense because GIGO, whatever that means.

Matthew 10:29 tells us that the Lord is aware of every sparrow's fall. In other words, He knows all things, guides all things and is responsible for all things. Your fancy science gibberish is all hogwash.

However, the earth has a radius of 3,959 miles, an average human jumping 1 foot into the air would only make them 1.00000004784 times farther from Earth's center that he ground below them. (Note that this places the person on an equatorial beach, where they would be going the fastest and the supposed effect should be most noticeable and easiest to calculate. The number given is the ratio between the distance from Earth's center of a person who jumped 1 foot in the air on an equatorial beach divided by the beach's distance from Earth's center, which is ((3959mi * 5280) + 1)/(3959mi *5280), or 20903521ft/20903520ft.) Even though both Earth and the person would be moving at 1040 mph, the person would have to cover such an insignificantly smaller distance compared to Earth's surface during the duration of the jump, which would be slightly less than 1 second. (1040mph/3600 = .288889 mi/s, multiplied by 5280 to give the number in feet/s, = 1525.333333 ft/s, meaning that the Earth's surface would move 1525.333333 feet during that jump. Multiply that by the ratio established earlier to get the distance the jumper would move, which is 1525.333333ft * 20903521ft / 20903520ft, or 1525.333406 ft. That means that the person moved 0.00007297016 feet less than Earth's surface, or 0.00087564199 inches less.) Since the difference in velocity, even at Earth's equator where it would be most obvious, is so insignificant, you cannot measure a shift like that even with the most precise instruments available, much less notice it yourself.

This is very typical of the convoluted nonsense spewed out by the cult of science. In science, it is not possible to give a simple and obvious answer to a plain question. That simple answer would be easy to understand and the listener would know it was a load of hooey. Scientists find it necessary to look concerned, with furrowed intellectual brow, and give a complicated answer based on ridiculous theories that seem smart, but only because you don't understand what they are talking about and their attitude makes you embarrassed to admit you can't follow their nonsense.

In fact, the entire scientific theory about the round ball Earth spinning through space helter skelter and flying in formation with all the other planets and stars in the heavens is drivel. Don't be fooled by the fact that it is complicated drivel. That is the plain and simple answer.

By easier calculation, I meant that I wanted the final result to be in US customary units (since the majority of this forum's members use that system), so I wanted my input values to be in US customary units rather than metric units. Of course, the metric system is simpler than the US system, but I wanted the calculations done entirely in US customary units. Sorry for confusion regarding this.

Note that I performed the calculations myself, the only data obtained through sources other than my own calculations were the base values of Earth's radius and the speed of a point on Earth's equator. I got those values from nasa.gov, though they are considered common knowledge, since those values would be fairly easy to obtain by someone with the right measuring equipment (GPS measuring devices) and is also available from a wide variety of different sources.

If you really want my specific sources, here they are:
Earth Radius (Note that I converted it into miles for easier calculation):
The NASA Space Science Data Coordinated Archive website is temporarily offline for maintenance.

Earth Angular Velocity (rounded slightly for easier calculation):
