    No, it's not that same texture, regolith and dust cover the moon. Aswell as mountains and flat mare cover it as well, a basketball has medium sized bumps all over the surface, there are no flat surfaces on a basket ball.

    Basketballs can be painted. And there are substances that can be used to give any surface a "moon crater" texture.     And. Basketballs are orange. The moon is grey. And I don't think basketballs are the size of North America and can hover about 300,000 miles into space.

    That is a crater called Tycho. It shot out multiple lines of bright regolith across the face of the moon. it is not an air intake, and it is not even the size of a basketball.

    It can be used both for Solar and Lunar uses, just the Solar version is more common then the other
