But this is a thread about flat earth on the forum. If i wanted to do that i would go to a different thread on the forum page to discuss that. Anyways, does your church say anything about telescopes? Because im setting mine up right now to observe.

Again. I had to use any link, i could choose anything i wanted. I just used the apology part from wikipedia because it was the first think i came too, not to prove a point, just so i could post what i wanted to say. I can choose a song from youtube, an image, an amazon link, it could be anything, it didnt matter. Look, ill put Cotten Eye Joe here just so that i have a link for my post, so that i can post it, not because im talking about the song. I hope you understand.

Also for anyone reading this, I advise you to see the comet! It is a bit faint but with a good telescope its absolutely stunning!

    Love you all, Sabrina.
Thank you, Sabrina, for having patience with our site. Satan often makes his presence known by trying to stop posts. We have stolen many of his followers so he tries to sabotage our site. Speaking of Satan, I hope you are aware the kind of "science" you provided carries the label Satanic Science. We here at Landover Baptist are experts in Biblical Science and if you go back through this thread you can learn of many experiments that prove the earth is flat. Landover Baptist scientists have done various versions of setting a rubber duck in a pan of water and watching for drift indicating a round earth surface. Take my word, you will not see the duck drifting downhill because the earth is perfectly flat.

Perhaps you could explain how Euclidian geometry works on a globe?
Certainly! Euclidean Geometry is divided into 3 categories, Hyperbolic Space, Euclidean Space, and Elliptical Space. We will only be focusing on the last 2. Euclidean Space is where the space lines and shapes occupy is flat, like a table or a plate. Elliptical Space is when lines and shapes occupy a space that is spherical, like a ball. On Euclidean Space, 2 parallel lines next to each other will never converge, making them parallel! On Elliptical Space, the lines go all the way around the largest point of the sphere, the middle or in this case, the equator. Making a line around the equator of the ball and making it go all the way through the top and the bottom of the spheres surface makes a circle! This also divides the ball into the top and bottom. If you add another parallel line just a bit away from it, and run the line through the widest part of the sphere, those two lines will eventually converge, twice, one on the right and one on the left. This subject is a bit hard for me to explain on plain text, so I'll link a video to someone who can explain it in more detail!

...what? the website took forever to load and timed out, so I tried posting it again but the original post went through, i did it 3 times and that was an accident on my part, again im sorry.

I put the Wikipedia article there since I had to use a link when I tried to post my reply, I could have used anything but I went with a Wikipedia article because that what came to me first, sorry you didn't like that, I can post something else if you want. plus the Wikipedia article has nothing to do with the main post about circumpolar constellations. it was an article about apologies since I thought it would be a bit funny to use an article about that.

I spelled your name wrong because I was using a phone keyboard to type, and it doesn't give me a red line underneath the misspellings. I did fix most of the misspellings but that one and a couple others have maybe missed my eye in the main post, again, sorry for that, I can be a bit careless when typing.

I'm just trying to be informative with my posts. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings handmaiden.

Comet A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS proved to be photogenic as it lit up the early autumn skies of the Northern Hemisphere this month.

WRONG! The earth is flat because the Bible says so! Woo, God is great! That'll be science zero, the Bible a million. Nice sig, fool. You'll meet all your idols down in Hell. Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Kepler, Archimedes, Plato, Hawking, Sagan, Edison, Tesla, Darwin, they're all burning in Hell for denying Christ and undermining the Bible with their blasphemous falsehoods. Circumpolar constellations, my Aunt Fanny! Jesus ALWAYS wins.

What do you say to that?
Just because one book says so doesnt mean the THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of irrefutable evidence is wrong, you shouldnt staple yourself to one book, because anything can be wrong, even the bible. We make mistakes and thats ok.

[from hamdmaiden, "Centarus" and "Octans" sound like demon names. Please do not evoke them here.]

Octans is a nautical instrument for when sailors used the stars or The Sun to calculate their position on the Earth, it was pretty useful for when normal paper maps or compasses failed, maybe Noah used one on his ark before the albatross came to guide him, who knows.

Centaurus is from the mythical creature known as a Centaur in mythology. A Centaur is a human with a horses body, and was very successful in guiding troops to war or leading a fighting since they are noble and brave. Suprisingly, there are 2 centaurs in the sky, Centaurus and the zodiac constellation, Sagittarius, who weilds a bow and arrow and is in the Summer Constellations.

Circumpolar Constellations are constellation that never set or rise based on your location. For instance, in Los Angeles, Ursa Major (The Big Bear) and Cassiopeia (The Queen) are known as Circumpolar, since over the length of a night, they never set below the horizon because they are too close to the North Celestial Pole. In the south, Centaurus, Musca (The Fly) and Volans (The Flying Fish) never rise since they are too close to the South Celestial Pole. The rising and setting of stars is due to the counterclockwise rotation of the Earth. As the Earth rotates West to East, the starts move in the opposite direction, rising in the East and setting in the West. As the year goes on, different constellations are seen as the ones to the west go behind the Sun, and other Constellations are seen coming out from behind the sun, of course, this is due to perspective. The background stars stay stationary from space. As the Earth goes around in its orbit, the sun blocks certain constellations from the perspective of Earth. As a result, this created an imaginary band in the sky in which the sun goes through in the course of a year, known as the ecliptic. If youd like more information on the topic, I have a google document that im using for my notes, just ask to see!

There are no "circumpolar" constellations. There are only constellations that are so far south that they're too small to see for the lands that God gave to White people, here in the North. That is why we can't see the Southern Cross or Octane (which I'm half convinced you just made up anyway). The Big Dipper is on the firmament of Heaven, which is about 400 miles away from central Iowa. Do you know the difference between 400 miles and more than 14,000 miles? You can't see anything that far away!
