We'd be very prone to explode whenever fire is nearby. But are we? No.

Oddly enough, another very common entity on this planet is also made of the highly flammable hydrogen and oxygen: water. The last time I checked, it was neither exploding nor burning, and yet it has Hindenberg written all over it. In fact, it does the opposite of what it should(by your logic)---It extinguishes fires.

Chemical changes can make something incredibly volatile become incredibly docile. However, since chemical change doesn't exist according to you, the beef I consume should make me sick from the E. Coli, and I should be eating raw eggs and sugar instead of a baked cake. Yet sadly, I'm not, because chemical change saved my life.

With regard to the utility of science: Science is useful when it leads us closer to the Lord.

As Pastor Billy-Reuben ably explained, science tells us the net reproductive rate of bacteria, and a simple calculation leads us straight to the Biblical truth about the age of the Earth.

Obviously, if the numbers had come out differently -- if science said that net rate was not consistent with Biblical truth -- then science would be wrong.

The Word of God is Truth; science is like a signpost which points toward that Truth. Vandals or misinformed persons may turn the sign the wrong way, or paint over it, so that it seems to no longer point to the Bible -- but the Truth is still in the Bible and not in the sign.
