Do remember when you are listing to secular scientists they every reason in the world to keep this “Old Earth” myth going in the face of all facts. They make a tremendous amount of money off books, teaching positions in secular institutes, lectures, movie deals, government grants, donations, the list go on. These people are not going to give up their luxury lifestyles in plush ivory towers because it is not true.

Good point! And I should add that I remember as a child visiting national parks with my parents. Did you know that the National Park Service has been infiltrated by secular humanists? There is even a Dinosaur National Monument where they display (obviously fake) dinosaur bones that they claim are 160 million years old? And even at the Grand Canyon, they've got books in the gift shop claiming that the canyon is millions of years old.

The solution, of course, would be to privatize the national parks. Let Godly Halliburton run them. Then the public would learn that dinosaurs are just cartoon characters, and that God made the Grand Canyon 6000 years ago. Plus those national parks "visitor centers" could be converted to churches.

Anyone who looks up at the myriad wonders of the skies who is honest has to acknowledge the hand of God at work in Creation. Unfortunately, there are some not so honest folks who do the exact opposite. They catalog the magnificence of the universe and try to present it as evidence that God does not exist! Those people are called astronomers.

Now, True Christians™ know that God sent us a message, the Holy Bible, KJV1611 version. It turns out that God also left a message, just for the astronomers, in a cloud of dust in the Carina Nebula. Here is a Hubble Space Telescope photograph delivering Our Heavenly Father's message to the godless sky-watchers here on Earth:

Which is saying a lot, really. Although I have to admit I'd find the idea of superman a lot easier to believe than the bible god. Especially a superman that looked like Tom Welling.

Yes, it IS a giant hand flipping the bird. That's the whole point. It is the hand of Our Heavenly Father telling Earthly astronomers what they can do with their anti-Biblical pseudoscience (in case you're wondering, you can see Jesus doing the same in the background, too). I would have explained, but I didn't think anyone in here was sufficiently dense not to grasp the concept.

half life is the decay rate of an element. Carbon-14 has a half life of 5730 years (or so). That means, 5730 years ago there was twice as much Carbon-14 as there is now.

Wrong. Don't forget the carbon-14 formed by radioactive decay from other isotopes.

Yes, I have read the Holy Bible--the current version and the original version, read out loud to me by a translator tape.

But I don't know why you thought I was mocking Jesus. I was asking some questions because I do not entirely understand everything about religion, and since this is one of the World Religions, I thought it would be sensible to learn as much as possible about this one first, before moving onto Islam and Judaism.

What I've learned so far from this community is that it is fine to be racist, homophobic, and rude for no reason (ie. being called a hippie for no reason).

Is this community not open to educating others?
