Did you know the Earth has been around for millions of years? And there were once Dinosaurs! Big giant lizards that roamed the Earth! And an asteroid killed all of them once, they must have been sinners, and humans somehow came to be from bacteria which survived the Dinosaur judgement day! I wonder why the bible never mentioned anything about this. I think its fascinating!

Yes, "there were giants on the Earth" in antediluvian times.

Many strange and wonderful creatures like dinosaurs (not "dinasours"!) lived before the Flood. As the waters surged over the surface of the Earth these animals perished, and their bodies were covered by sand and gravel. Their remains can be found to this day in flood-created geological deposits worldwide.

If one were to state the evidence for Noah's flood in one sentence, one might choose this one: "The summit of Mount Everest is marine limestone." How could oceanic limestone have precipitated on the summit of Everest if the sea had never covered the mountain?

The works of the Lord are wonderous!

Sauron, you can believe "scientific evidence" if you want. But that's not the highest standard of proof for everyone.

For a large percentage of Americans faith is the ultimate standard of proof about the nature of Reality. And there are more of us every day, praise Jesus!

Logic is fallible. The Greek philosopher Parmenides knew as much over 2400 years ago: you cannot prove that logic is a trustworthy guide to Reality. In fact, he and his disciple Zeno showed that our senses are not trustworthy either -- as you can learn from watching any good stage magician.

Scientific instruments are extensions of our senses, and the scientific method is ruled by logic. But for a couple of millennia we have known that neither is a trustworthy guide to Reality-with-a-capital-R. Even the arch-demon scientist Kip Thorne (co-author of Gravitation, the definitive text on relativity) admitted that science could not show him the reality of gravity; it could only provide various ways of looking at it.

(To be fair, he wrote that "what gravity really is" ends up being rather meaningless question, but that's beside the point.)

Where then is Reality? For many of us, it is in the Word of the Lord. Iridium layers, shocked quartz, and fossil impact craters be damned! The Bible says it was a great flood which killed the giants of old, and Christian faith is mightier than logic or evidence.

And there the matter lies. Scientific principles may rule the workings of our high-definition television sets, but Christian faith rules our beliefs. So praise ye the Lord!

Well, I'm not sure you want to dig too deeply into two sentences and decisively say I believed that's the real reason dinosaurs went extinct. All I mentioned was the recent research to put a new perspective on things, but I never said it was true. We know the Bible makes references to large beasts of dinosaur proportions, so it would make more sense that humans killed them off. Why? Well, humans like to kill anything that's bigger than them and is a nuisance. That isn't set in stone, but it's one possibility.

Y'all don't even know your science mumbo-jumbo. Those hellbound scientists now believe these days that those 'diny-saurs' may well have been warm blooded (not lizards).
Of course, all such thinking on animals, whether with warm or cold blood, that are millions of years old, will lead y'all striaght to hell, as the Lord made the world around 6000 years ago. Millions. Ha! Whatever will y'all suggest next, that these 'diny-saurs' turned into birds?

Actually, Missy, some scientists believe that the "Raptor" species of dinosaur has evolved into modern day birds. They believe this because some of the earlier in date fossils found also have imprints of feathers around them, and that their bones were hollow, much like modern day birds.

While i agree with an above poster, logic can be very easily be fallible, science itself is a testament to that. What was known 200 years ago is now known to be wrong. The practice of science is to disprove.

I do ask, however, can creationists refute carbon dating?
