How can Noah's Arc be true?

I'm confused guys! I've read the Biblical account of Noah's Arc, but how can it be possible? How could Noah have fit two of every creature on a wooden arc (The size of which is given in the Bible.) when there are an estimated 30 Million different species on Earth? Moreover, how could Noah have provided enough food for all 60 million odd animals (Two of every kind.) for 40 days and 40 nights? What's more is that if the Earth were to be completely covered in water the atmosphere would be so saturated with water vapor that cellular respiration by Oxygen, or CO2 breathing species, would be impossible! Also, where did all the water go? It would take many centures for water going higher than the peak of Everest to go away.... It really doesn't make much sense... I wanna go to Heaven though, so please help me to believe!

I am most displeased at the fact that I cannot answer all of your questions, but I know that in time, through scientific research, all of them will be answered. It is, infact, not knowing that makes "evilution" so exciting is the mystery and adventure it invokes will answering all and any questions you may have. I will not, however, say that it will take place within our life times. The questions your good Doctor asked are very complicated in nature ergo, sufficient time will be needed to answer each and everyone one them. Patience, my good man, is the key.

Friend, God is wonderful. (I'm going to talk some genetics now) All humans descended from Noah and his three boys and their wives, God put all the genetic information needed for all the races in those boys.

Also, if Noah only took 2 dogs, and not 2 of each and every version of dog. He may have taken a chihuahua and a sheepdog, between the two, there's more than enough genetic information to make all the different versions of dogs.

Also, the animals taken would probably have been young. They would not have required as much space, nor would they require all the food that an adult of that species would need.

Additionally, most larger animals don't require feeding every day.

As for air; prior to the flood, the atmosphere was saturated with oxygen, as though the entire earth was a hyperbaric chamber. With plants being drowned for almost a year, there still would have been enough oxygen for THE ONLY LIVING CREATURES to breathe.

Where did the water go?

Most of it is in the polar ice caps. A lot of it is floating around in the atmosphere, where do you think the water that makes up glaciers on mountains came from? and I'm sure some of it was vaporized and sent into space.

Now for breathing when there's that much water, it doesn't have to have evaporated, most of it was frozen relatively quickly (look at the wooly mammoth) and then the glaciers worked their way to the poles.

Noahs arc is bigger than the titantic or any other ship. Noah had over 100 years to build the arc. just imagine how big it could have gotten

You should swing by the Ark exhibit in the Landover Baptist Zoo. You'd be surprised how many animals you can fit into 450,000 square cubits if you pack them just right.

Some of the animals ate the other animals. That's why many species that once roamed the earth are extinct today.

If you're going to question the Bible, please at least get your facts straight! In the presence of liquid water (and I think we all agree that the flood qualifies), the equilibrium pressure of water vapor is a function of the temperature of the air and water (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturation_vapor_pressure). The Earth is 2/3 covered by water as it is, and we seem to be breathing alright. This is basic chemistry, no different than, say, the transmutation of silicon dioxide into assorted organic molecules that is also seen in the Book of Genesis.

God got rid of most of it by reversing the fountains of the great deep. If he could make the waters rise that high in only 40 days, surely he could reverse the process even more quickly with gravity on His side.

noahs ark is true but with two exceptions it wasn't the great flood due to the conservation of mass and it happened in the babolon area only not the whole world and it was his family

I didn't say elephants evolved into pygmies elephants, I would never advocate magic. What I am saying, with Jesus loving guidance, the elephants grew to a smaller size when placed in the Arc. In other words they right sized for the environment.

As for the tortoise is rebelliousness to God's will is persistent threw out this wicked world. Those tortoises won't be so cocky when they are swimming in the Lake of Fire for disobeying Jesus.

Ah, that explains it then. Incredable, shrinking elephants, yes!

As for the tortises, well, as I have been given to understand it, only 'kinds' were taken aboard. This means that the giant tortises could be left behind to drown (or be barbecued in a pre-launch party) in favor of something considerably smaller, such as the Florida Gopher Tortise. From there, all that was necessary would have been for them to return to FL after the Flood, splitting off the other species along the way..... Hmmm.

Oh well, we must have faith, for to do otherwise would condemn us to the secular claws of so-called 'science,' a fate no True Believer can contemplate without a shudder.

But back to elephants, the thought occurs: as only kinds were taken aboard, wouldn't have been better to take hyraxs in favor of the space-consuming elephants, even small ones? They are distantly related, after all and eat a lot less.

There I go again; trying to second-guess God. That's a failing of mine that I constantly struggle to supress.

Guess I'll be spending some time in the prayer & repentence closet tonight!
