    Re: Flat Earth? Hell Yes!

Sorry forgot to say this but NONE of you guys have been able to really prove to me anything OTHER then a few quotes from the book. If you think the Earth is "Flat" or "Round" then go buy a space shuttle, go into the heavans and in god's name go look for your self.

So what you guys are saying is that all because that some book written about 2 thousand years ago or whatever says something about it being flat? HEY GUESS WHAT when columbus wanted to sail to the east in order to get the spices. Well nearly everyone back then said that the ship would've fallen off the edge of the Earth. Apparently he didn't fall off the edge of the Earth and he discovered the very soil that you lived on today. It goes like this.

Europe to America to Asia to Europe.

ALSO how would you prove when during the apollo missions they saw the Earth from the heavons above and saw it spherical. A disc shaped object CANNOT be shaded like this

Notice the different shadings? Also I'm well aware that this picture is a digital picture. But there are others that prove so otherwise.

Also, the sun does not revolve around the earth, this has been proven by Kepler back in the scientific revolution, find me proof that the sun revolves around the earth, find me proof the earth is disc shaped, the Bible doesnt count.

If you can't dig thru to the other side of the Earth, and if digging deep enough will take one right to hell, what do you find if you start digging in hell? More hell? Is hell infinitely deep, or is there something else weird under it, like a sea?

Ok then, but you didn't explain the gravity part, and the "not falling of the edge part" there is to much evidence to support the earth is round, if you can find good hard proof that the earth is a disk then sure!

    p/s the bible doesn't count...

Of course the Earth is round -- it is disk shaped. This has already been covered here in this very thread.

Are you trying to claim a two-dimensional picture as evidence of a spherical Earth? You'll have to do better that that, friend.

Of course. It's a good thing Earth DOESN'T have an elliptical orbit around the sun.

1Chr 16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

The Earth doesn't move around the sun; the sun moves to and fro across the firmament over the Earth.

Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Gen 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

The Bible doesn't come right and say that the Earth is flat, because it's common sense. The Bible also doesn't come right out and say that the sky is blue either. Would you like to try to make a point there?

However, the Bible does describe a firmament set on pillars above the fixed immovable Earth (Ps. 19:1, Job 26:11, Is. 45:18, and many, many others).

The Bible describes a tree so tall that it was visible from all points on the Earth (Dan. 4:10-11), a mountain so tall that all of the Earth could be seen from the summit (Mt. 4:8), and Jesus being on a cloud where "and every eye shall see him" (Rev 1:7). None of that is possible on a spherical Earth.

Are you claiming that it is a fact that someone has dug a hole all the through the Earth and come out on the other side? That's news to me! Do you have a reference to back this up? I'd like to read about that. I did a Google search, but I didn't find anything.

The closest thing I found was this story about Russian geologists who drilled a hole all the way down into Hell! They recorded the screams, and the site I linked has the audio. Scary stuff.

Ok, first of all, all those pictures of earth prove that the earth is round. Second, it would be impossibe to have an elliptical orbit around the sun if the earth was flat. Third, we have made planes that can fly around the world and have done so without sailing off into space. Fourth, the Bible never comes out and says the Earth is flat, if it does say exactly those words I would be happy to read it. I have read the Bible many times and I do not recall the Bible ever saying that. Fifth, yes, light does bend, but it does not bend back around. it only bends into space. It is a simple law called "Diffraction". Sixth, The earth has a rotation, impossible if it was flat. Seventh, if one was to dig a giant hole, why would one get to the other side? Face it, these are facts. I DARE someone to prove me wrong.

Born Again Bob, you are clearly mistaken, the earth is not flat, nor has it ever been flat. That is just a common saying that has been used for centuries. They have sent men to the moon, and they have taken pictures, proving the earth is a sphere.

Has anyone discussed Einstein's theories as they may pertain to a Flat Earth theory? Einstein believed that objects actually warp the space around them. The greater the mass the greater the pull on space. He explains that the moon is trying to move in a straight line, but because the space in which it travels is warped around the earth, it "orbits" around us.

Even tough Einstein was a Jew he also proved the earth was flat. Both God and the world's smartest Jew say the earth is flat. That is more than proof enough for me.

Too bad God didn't chose to make the Earth a four-sided triangle. Now THAT would have been something to behold.

Fandango, there are two, and probably only two, points on which I agree with these "True Christians." First, the Bible does say that the Earth is flat. Second, you will never be able to convince a single "True Christian" that the Earth is not flat.
