Re: Better Living Through Technology - True Christian™ Prosthetics

I'm shocked by the amount of people who think it is "kind" to give assistance to handicapped people by replacing their damaged limbs. If God wanted them to have limbs, he would have already gave it to them!

This is like someone murdering your family, getting sentenced to life in prison, and then "kind" people decide he should have a swimming pool, television and golf course while he is serving his sentence.

People who give prosthetic limbs to handicapped people are not only enabling criminals, but they're also usurping God's judgment. They might as well be saying "Hey God! Your judgments are unfair and wrong! We know better than you!" Absolutely sickening. What is worse is that our hard earned tax dollars are going to this!

Oh, I went on a bit of a tirade there. Anyway, this is a great example of how even devices originally invented for the most disgusting purpose can be molded into a tool for good in the hands of a True Christian™.
Close minded people are just right people who don't want to spend time arguing.

Landover bought out and closed the factory producing these in 1906. Then it was reopened in 1908 when all limbs were made 2" too short and with wire-wool as a padding for the stump.

At the time, this was considered a compromise between (i) God's desire for punishment and (ii) righteous public opprobrium for a sinner in the Eyes of The Lord and (iii) the ability for the wearer to be free of welfare and (iv) to do some menial tasks - sell matches, etc.

After the company had turned a good profit from a government contract after WW1, it closed leaving creditors high and dry - for which we must thank the Chief Accountant Jeremiah Flint as the huge profits from the closure led to the building of the first new Megachurch.

I noticed, professor, that you are an ex-gay program certificate holder. Will St. Peter not smell the fluids on your breath? Are you not responsible for your sins because you are a "true christian"?

I have met a large amount of decent, honorable people. If they had read some of the hateful, evil things posted on this website they would be sick.

You all are a shining example of how man takes a good thing and makes it evil. Why do you only reference parts of the bible that fit your views and not the ones that contradict them. The bible also teaches compassion and mercy and love. You hold these qualities for those whom you deem worthy. Sounds like you're the ones spitting in His face. I'll see all of you in hell. No doubt.

Judge not lest ye be judged yourself.....or if you're a "true christian". Right. Good luck living in your small sad little world. I'll be filling myself up with the love I receive helping all of those in need.

        God bless.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to look at more information like this having to with the correlation between disabled people and crime. What you believe is baseless and false. What some ignorant person wrote thousands of years ago in the name of God isn't credible.

Actually we are one of the very few churches that use the whole Bible.

Sorry for the link. Didn't realize it broke the rules I agreed to =P

If you do believe in both sides of the coin and practice it...well, it would restore my faith in some of you if someone among you would step forward and tone down the hate. I can understand distaste toward things that don't fit in line with your ideal of right, but hate is in no way a pious emotion for anyone to carry. Sadly, that's the impression I get for some of these things I have read.

Where is the mercy of someone else's suffering? When I see someone say about a legless Olympic runner who killed another living being that it was only a matter of time before that retard killed that whore...the last thing on my God. Or maybe it's the first thing because it makes me afraid that people who love God can so easily spew such hate. What about those who loved those people? The people who knew the good in them, the God in them. I think of those things as the same thing. I also think if there is a God everyone is deserving of His love.

I don't hate anyone. But if God tells me that queers are an abomination deserving of death, who am I to argue?

Don't mistake the righteous judgment of the Creator of the Universe with hatred on our part.

I guess in my mind there are certain things I can't think of as evil and destructive. I'm all for hearing another perspective, I believe that it is what helps me solidify and find my own beliefs. If that makes me Godless or anything else so be it. I'm still going to live my life being as good to people as I can.

One thing that always stuck with me in regards to the thought that God wants his enemies destroyed is the crusades. There were so many deaths that happened by acts of nature, or acts of God, on the crusaders side. A whole ship of child crusaders sunk. If divine intervention truly happens, that was certainly an example of it to me.
