Re: At what age do kids become goths?

You have to be joking? The gothic lifestyle has been around since way before the 1800s! Its where it originated from. So don't give me that nonsense! You can't say stupid made up facts like that when you clearly didn't learn much about the world in your time.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Young lady. You really do talk utter tripe at times. From Wiki:
The Goth subculture is a contemporary subculture found in many countries. It began in England during the early 1980s in the Gothic rock scene, an offshoot of the post-punk genre.

So I suppose you haven't hear of Victorian Goths? Don't listen to everything you find on Wikipedia my friend. There have been goths for a very long time! I am the only goth in my family personally but I have friends that have grandparents which are goths. I suppose my probably would have been. Punk was a big hit in the 70s, look for Noel Fielding, my hero. Punk has been a cousin of the gothic culture and we celebrate it in this town every year.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

What does 'Goth' mean in your little world? Is it the way you dress? Or is it the music?

Goth to me is a sense of who you are. Not the way you dress, what you listen to etc, more you perspective on life and your interest in the darker aspects of life, it's fascinating.

How did you 'become' goth if you can't choose to be goth?

Come now, you have all eternity in the dark side of life, in HELL! So why don't you try to be at least a bit less sinful. Judging by your avatar and rapid defense of gay people, I suspect you are gay yourself. Repent, stop choosing to be Satanic.

That fetus will be in Hell, because they never had a chance to repent their sinful ways (Psalms 51:5) (1 Kings 8:46)

Jesus doesn't care what you think, and no one on His favorite forum does either. If you want to ask Christ for eternal life up in Heaven, you need to get your opinions to match those of God.

Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? - Matthew 6:25

Oh my avatar? Yes that's some childish trick someone on this forum did, completely uncalled for but who has the time to care? Why does every suspect I am a homosexual? I am Goth, that in noway indicates I am a lesbian. Yes I very strongly support gays but that doesn't make me one, I am in a happy relationship with my boyfriend. You jump to conclusions to quickly. I became a Goth then when I was 7 but I never really had a choice, it just happened, if I liked it or not, Goth was who I was and am today.

You can chose the way you dress, what music you listen to, and how you behave. If you start acting decent, your brain will gradually stop having gothic thoughts.

Are you confusing architectural and literary styles - Victorian Gothic - with people? You probably shouldn't believe everything you read in Bram Stoker, Charlotte Bronte and Edgar Allan Poe.

I have friends that have grandparents which are goths.
Is that supposed to be surprising? Someone who was 25 in the early 1980s - let's say 1984, just to make the maths easy for you - would now be 55 years old. When I was that age, my eldest grandson was almost 19.

And it's not at all surprising that these friends of yours should have inherited the mental weakness that caused their grandparents to become goths. Devil-worship has consequences down the generations, as you would know if you had read the Bible.

                            Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Why would I want that? I adore being a goth, you view life in a different light. Yes sometimes goth is associated to certain clothes and bands, each that I am fond of but overall goth is just a state of mind, there's nothing wrong with it.

If goth "is just a state of mind" why are they so easy to pick out in a crowd? Just pick the chubbiest, pastiest kid in drab Goodwill garb and you hit the mark every time.
