When I first posted a comment here. I was immediately labeled "Unsaved Trash". (What a way to “win the lost” – thru intimidation into conformity!)

Everyone starts out as "Unsaved Trash", friend. It is only through the Grace of God that any of us are anything else.

Now please correct me if I am wrong about this (since you apparently have the ONLY “handle” on the truth) but I was under the impression that Christianity was supposed to be BECAUSE of Jesus Christ in the first place and is supposed to be altogether ABOUT Jesus Christ. Yet the scripture does not portray Him as being legalistic about the scripture nor did He put people in bondage to any of it's rules and regulations. Instead He said the scripture served one purpose. It spoke of Him. He is the true Spiritual Reality that EVERYTHING in the Bible points to. And true Spiritual Reality in found in Him alone.

Amen! I have no need to correct you there, because everything you said is exactly right.

We don't believe in legalism here, either. We believe in the Gift of Salvation through the Grace of God, amen.

Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Let's take cooking as an analogy. Some people have no idea how to cook, so they have to fumble their way through recipe books, carefully measuring everything, carefully timing everything, and the food they prepare is barely palatable. There are other people who are master chefs. They don't need recipes because they instinctively know how to prepare food, and everything they cook tastes wonderful.

The law is like the recipe books, and unsaved folks are like the folks who can't cook. They need to carefully follow the law in order to perform God's Will, and even then they don't do so well at it.

Born-again Christians, however, has no need for the law, because we instinctively know how to perform the Will of God. The Holy Spirit lives within us, shielding us from temptation, and pointing out the path towards righteousness, just like the master chef's education and experience prevents him from making mistakes.

He NEVER harshly rebuked "sinners" and for the most part He did not tell them to change their ways - in some outward fashion or another. He just told them to believe in Him and trust Him. Read the gospels and prove me wrong if you can.

Sure thing, Jelly Bean. If Jesus didn't expect folks to change their ways, then why is the Gospel full of calls to repentance? Repent doesn't mean just saying "Whoops, my bad", and then continuing to commit the same sins. Repentance is "the relinquishment of any practice from the conviction that it has offended God. Sorrow, fear, and anxiety are properly not parts, but adjuncts, of repentance; yet they are too closely connected with it to be easily separated."

Matt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matt 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

He freely associated with them in order to show His love and acceptance of them and win them with the Love of God.

No, he associated with sinners because they were the most in need of a physician. Don't take my word for it -- this is what Jesus said when asked why He spent all His time hanging out with sinners...

Mark 2:16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

However, He was very harsh with the folks who were unloving towards others and self-righteous about their legalistic obedience to the "dead letter" of the scripture - which ONLY kills.

He even condemned THEM to hell and said that they were the blind who were leading the blind and therefore they would both fall into the ditch. He said that they laid burdens on peoples shoulders that they couldn't bear and traveled the globe to make disciples - only to make them twice as much a child of hell as they were!

That's true.

Contrary to the self-righteous religious hypocrites - He understood, lived, taught and applied the "spirit" of the Word - which brings LIFE! He felt so strongly about all of this that He even said that the worst kind of sinner (a tax collector) who is simply honest before God about His spiritual condition - would be saved and the self-righteous religious person who kept the letter of the Word to the smallest detail would be damned! THAT is what Jesus said.

Amen! The Pharisees didn't believe forgiveness of sins is possible -- one sin and you are automatically damned. It is still true that anyone who sins, even once, deserves eternal damnation, but Jesus made it possible to be saved.

Anyone who repents and believes may be saved. Praise the Sweet name of Jesus!

All the wrath, all the smiting, all the calls for burnt offerings were coming from Jesus just as if he was preaching it in the Sermon on the Mount!

I try my best to work through all of the traditions of men and various legalistic interpretations of the essense of the Bible and show people the simple truth of what God wants from them. I am going to assume not, based on the typos, and the grammatical errors, etc. If you want people to read your posts, your incredibly long posts, you should show them that you care enough to proof them before posting. If that seems like too much work to you, imagine all of us here trying to slog our way through that stream-of-consciousness, error-riddled babble. My mind started hydroplaning after the third paragraph. Was that mostly about hair? And did you say that hippies invented beards? I will have you know that I have a beard because I have an ugly chin. Satisfied?

I did notice that instead of comparing yourself to Jesus like you did in a previous post, you took shots at a Disciple this time. Are you so sure about your convictions that you can accuse Paul?
