Hi, my first post on this forum as you can see. I do not call myself a Christian, Muslim, atheist or any such label. I do not believe in anything. 'Belief' imply's following without reason and what would be the point of that? I do not indulge in blind faith like so many of you seem to do instead I lead my life as best I can following modern human knowledge as opposed to that of a book written hundreds of years ago yet many so called 'Christians' shun me for this as if I am in some way inferior to them. So I ask of you, in what way is trying to lead my life sensibly, honestly and morally based on human knowledge inferior to leading my life based on the words of some book written so long ago as to maybe not be relevant. Of which there is no proof that it is actually words of God? Because I was under the opinion that any divine creator would prefer us to be sensible and exercise our freewill as opposed to illogically following something without evidence? I don't know anymore... anybody care to shed some light, is there something I'm missing?

I was brought up without religion, and knew at a very early age how ridiculous it is. Hundreds of different religions, each with a different god or a variation of the same god, all with different rules and different beliefs. How is this even possible? Each one says that its the right one, and is all powerful, and all the others are wrong, yet if ANY ONE of them was correct, the others wouldn't exist in the first place.
And, the retarded concept that you are assigned your religion by your parents, so it wasn't even your own choice, but you know that yours is the right one. Its only your religion because it was your parents religion ! Doesn't anyone think about this shit when they are sitting in church being begged for money?
And lets not forget the "word of god". I guess god spoke English, because all the bibles around here are in a familiar language. King James version, anyone? He didnt like the bible, so he rewrote it. He rewrote the word of god ! And now people just follow what he wrote instead. But its still the word of god.
And lets address the issue of logic. If you have to train your mind to ignore logic to accept all these ridiculous ideas, you have basically retrained your mind not to work properly. How are you going to address the issues and problems of the day if your focus is through a warped lens? If you intentionally disregard your own brain's thought process to accommodate the "six hundred year old man building an ark" story, you have crippled your future ability to reason and solve real problems. And for what? False peace of mind that you know things that people cant possibly know?
Religion is a plague on our planet, and we would be better off with less religion, and more common sense.
Every one in this picture went to church on the very next Sunday and praised their lord. Guaranteed.

The second is of a more personal nature. While hippies and homers were fleeing from their obligations to this country during the Vietnam War, I stepped forward and voluntarily enlisted in the Navy of these Great United States. It was not something I was compelled to do by the government (I had a low draft number) but it was something that God compelled me to do. That experience comprises the building blocks upon which I have led my life. My Obligation to my shipmates, my obligation to my country, and my obligation to God are the foundations upon which I have lead my life.

Being a bit on the aheist side i find it hard to beleive that God compelled you to enlist in a war that had very little to do with your country and kill innocent people. Why would he will something like this?
