Also, if god did exist why does he make good things happen to bad people?

The answer is, he doesn't, things just happen.

But then, how can you accredit good things to him? We've just established things just happen.

Generally the only things that are attributed to god are those things which you cannot explain, and considering my audience right now, I guess that'd be a lot. I'm sorry folks, but as far as "Knowledge of how the world works" You guys seem to be pretty much at the bottom. No offense intended, but you all seem rather unlearned.

But assuming you have enough knowledge of the world to not attribute every thing that you cannot explain at that very second to god, perhaps you will realize that if god doesn't make bad things happen, or even make GOOD things happen? What does he do? The answer is nothing.

And if you're going to say "there is a God, he just doesn't do things" Now stop and think. If I said "There is a giant tiki mask that sits underground with infinite power and knowledge, but you can't see him and he never does anything." Wouldn't it be pretty safe to assume he's not there?

I realize you pious empty self inflicted ignoramuses will choose to completely disregard most of this. Because really, if you've managed to disregard every single other intelligent thought that has gone through your head, why stop now?

Ah, now this was before I posted my last post, so I guess I should humor it.

Atheism, for one, is not a religion.

I'd just like to point that out.

We don't worship ANYONE. We don't see ourselves as gods, we don't see science as gods. We just see the world for what it is.

Unfortunately, when you use logic, you realize that claiming an all powerful being is in control is just a human response, it frees us from not knowing, and then when we can explain it, we can grow.

For example, once upon a time, tribal people existed who, upon seeing a volcano explode, would assume the mountain god is angry. Lunacy, correct?

Now how is this any different from what you believe? Apart from the fact that you have a book written by some other loons a long time ago telling you that the lunacy you believe is true?

I do not see lords creation. Or sciences creation. It is a planet, which has changed over billions of years to become the incredibly unlikely thing we see today.

However to say it is impossible, would be silly. There are billions upon billions of stars and planets. Each one of them a variable.

Ours just happened to be successful.

I do not want to explain how evolution worked to you, I would be wasting my breath upon deaf ears. It takes a while to explain and I'm sure someones already tried, but for all the sense it makes, and all the intelligent reason behind it you rejected it.

That's fine I guess, as human beings we are given free will. We evolved with it, and it is what has made us what we are today.

You choose to believe in religion, another fine part of the human race that allowed us to evolve and be as successful as we are. A human with no explanation for things slowly goes mad, while we had religion, we had an easy escape goat to ride until we had real answers.

So really, I guess we (The intelligent population of the planet) have to thank you- Well, no. Not you, but what you each stand for, for allowing us to grow past what you people still are. We can look back at you and see how far we've come.

So yes, I can look around and see the wonders of creation as you call it. I can be happy to see it.

In fact, I can be happier than you.

Because I know, that I am special. I am something that is, in almost every single way an anomaly. We are so rare, so near on impossible, and yet, thanks to a trillion to one chance, we exist. And that we can acknowledge our existence. Our atoms had just as much a chance of being scattered throughout a star, instead, we are here. As human beings. And I get to sit here and tell you how happy I am about that.

Can you see air, son? You can no more breathe without air than you can form a coherent thought or go about the matter of simply existing without God. The proof is all around you. Just look at all the design all around you!

If you were in the middle of a desert and came across a Rolex watch, you would have to concede that the watch had a creator, would you not? Watches simply don't form themselves or happen "by accident" like you self-deluded fools tell yourself. You and everything around you exists because God willed it into being. You may choose to deny the Truth all around you, but your lack of belief will not change the facts. Just as if you decided to deny the existence of air, you would not immediately begin to suffocate.

You can pretend all the way to your deathbed that God doesn't exist. It doesn't change the fact that a beautiful mansion awaits me in Heaven, where I will bask in Christ's radiant glory for all eternity. If, because of your addiction to sin, you persist in your denial and don't wake up to the Truth printed even on your black, twisted heart, you will find yourself spending eternity in much more inhospitable conditions (Revelation 21:8). Is your sin addiction really worth spending eternity enduring unfathomable torments?

The proof of God's existence is in the Holy Bible. If the Bible is wrong when it tells us it is infallible, then it contradicts itself. If it contradicts itself, then it is unreliable. If it is unreliable, then our faith is totally shattered and Christianity is a lie. You need to seriously reconsider your logic.

Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.

And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.

The Bible tells us that Mary was a virgin when she conceived Jesus via the Holy Spirit. Only Catholics believe ( an glorify ) the idea that she remained a virgin her whole life.

And all the evidence that believers need for believing in God and Jesus is in the Bible. Some people have experiences and encounters that turn them towards God, but they then turn to the Bible to understand those experiences. Not all these people are insightful enough to read all the Bible and understand the big picture, instead they glom onto one or two verses and construct their own personalized religious belief system from within the troubled corners of their own minds.

These people can do a great deal of harm. We here at LBC prefer to guide people to read the whole Bible so that they can see the real God. Once they see God and understand Him for who He really is, they can find peace in knowing that He will not send them to Hell.
