Yesterday, they rented "Man of the Year" in which Robin Williams plays a political comedian similar to Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert who runs for president as a joke. A new computerized voting machine is introduced in that particualr election, and a glitch in the software causes votes to be credited wrong, and he gets elected by mistake. Last week, they rented CSI videos and tried to see who could solve the case before the end of each episode. Anyone in the group who had already seen a particular episode was not allowed to tell the solution, so that they didn't spoil it for the others, but was allowed to give hints if everyone was stumped. Nothing wrong with a bunch of kids sitting around solving puzzles - in fact, it increases their ability to observe detail and allows them to exercise critical thinking skills.
