What makes you think these things that suck the life out of people are "vampires" friend; God sends HIS angels to smite people all the time. Believing in that would be just plane retarded.

As a magician I have dealt with my fair share of vampires in the astral dimension. Vampires are the cast off personas of the deceased who wish to indefinitely prolong their afterlife. When a normal person dies their consciousness departs and the persona of the life they just lived slowly decay within the astral dimension, which is the environment that dreams take place in. We call these personas ghosts when they have enough power to manifest in the physical. But some have a higher degree of consciousness in life so that the persona also has more conscious and realizes it has passed on and comes out of the dream state. They feed on the life energy of others to compensate for their own slow decay.
