  • A Message to Members of ALL Religions

Hold on now! Before you go and get the wrong idea, this isn't another post about why religion is bad, or why it's wrong. Of course, it is bad, and it is wrong, but I figured that this is so blindingly obvious that it no longer needs to be said. Instead, this is a direct attack on you, the religious person. The argument? That your failure to reject religion indicated you are colossally, irredeemably stupid. Religion is fundamentally flawed in a staggering number of ways, to the point that a single curious child can bring down the entire framework of baloney with an innocent question.

    Such questions include:

    · Why is there evil?

    · Who made God?

    · Why should I trust you after that Santa Claus thing?

But you didn't ask those questions did you? Or if you did, you accepted the pathetic rationalizations that were offered without further contemplation. Perhaps you were afraid to ask, or even think about it. Your comforting little worldview mattered more to you than the truth. But can this critical failure really be blamed on a fear of the consequences of religion being wrong? Is a godless world too terrible to contemplate? The idea that Santa Claus isn't real is also unpleasant, and this provides a deterrent to disbelief.

    But not a significant one.

God doesn't even bring people presents. In fact, most religious show us that he is kind of a jerk. Plagues, laws, smiting and eternal torture. Is this really so attractive an idea that people cannot let it go? Perhaps the disinterest is the only real problem. After all, if a man can't read Greek, that doesn't make him stupid. It simply means he doesn't care to read Greek. But can a lack of interest in the fundamental nature of reality really be justified in this way? Maybe so. After all, it makes little difference in day to day living whether a god is up there or not.

And yet, shouldn't the fact that God's existence has no major consequences itself raise a red flag?

The idea that a being with immense powers exists, but never tampers with the world in a noticeable way is an absolutely childish scenario. It's “I'm not touching you” on a cosmic scale. Granted, we used to see a lot more evidence of god's tampering than we do today. Lighting, disease, floods, butterflies, the sun. But even then, a bunch of inexplicable things hardly adds up to a big magical man you can't see. And of course, all this “evidence” wilted and died with sufficient rational inquiry. The sun and stars turned out to be big nuclear furnaces, diseases and butterflies are now well understood, and lighting is just an electrical discharge. Indeed, from leopard spots, to pregnancy, to the shape of the Earth, religion has been proven wrong, wrong, wrong time and time again. It would take an IDIOT not to see a pattern in this.

And that's exactly what you are.

The icing on this pathetic cake is that you realize all the OTHER religions are wrong, you just have a blind spot toward your own. Perhaps you have a vague awareness that religion is ridiculous, but you never really give it up because your thoughts are too disorganized to deal with it. If this is the case, and your mind is a dusty closet of odds and ends, motivational phrases and vacation photos, then I have nothing but contempt for you.

I refuse to respect religious beliefs, and I refuse to respect the people who hold them. Your willful ignorance is inexcusable and it disgusts me.

First of all, this is NOT a debate forum. Please read THIS thread before making an even bigger fool of yourself.

Secondly, while the internets might seem to be "free" to you, this particular corner of the internets is a privately owned Christian forum. The rights you have on this forum are listed HERE. Please contact a Pastor if you feel that any of your rights have been violated.

Finally, your unsaved opinions or tantrums are not even slightly of interest to us. We follow the Holy Word of God TO THE LETTER, and make no apologies for that. One of the most important commandments in the Bible tells us to avoid unsaved scum such as yourself. You wandered in here uninvited, and unwelcome.

I will pray that the Holy Spirit enter you and chase the demons out of your rectum and let Jesus fill you with His Grace. If you use your God-given free will to reject Christ and His temporary death on the cross for my sins, then you are sending yourself to hellfire.

One simple answer to your question

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

Thank you for your persecution, the Bible tells us that Christians will be persecuted by non-believers, so thank you for proving God right.

"And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved." [Matthew 10:22]

Oh well since you came here and said this, we'll just shut the site down! I mean nobody has ever shown up here before and mocked God, nope, it's never happened before. How old are you, twelve?

            Why is there evil?
            Because God made it.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

            Who made God?
And who made Gods creator and so on. Yeah guess what, it doesn't matter. God is the one who created us and as far as we are concerned he is the beginning and the end.
Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Can you tell me what created the big bang? Or what created whatever created the big bang? Then why should I believe in those theories?

Why should I trust you after that Santa Claus thing?
Not ours or Gods fault that your parents decided to lie to you and fill you with delusions.

But you didn't ask those questions did you? Or if you did, you accepted the pathetic rationalizations that were offered without further contemplation. Perhaps you were afraid to ask, or even think about it. Your comforting little worldview mattered more to you than the truth. See, I was never told that Santa was real. I was told the truth that he was a mockery of Jesus created by SATAN (sheesh, just look at the two words) to fool people and pull them away from Jesus. In your case it seems to have worked. As for my religion being wrong, I doubt it. I went through a doubting stage because the Presbyterian church would not answer the questions I had about the Bible. They told me that some parts aren't important anymore, and that things didn't really mean what they said. Fortunately I came across some True Christians(TM) that still fully believed in the Bible and they saved me from falling away from my faith.

God doesn't even bring people presents. In fact, most religious show us that he is kind of a jerk. Plagues, laws, smiting and eternal torture. I think you're confusing us with fuzzy bunny Christians. No where on this site will you find a True Christian(TM) saying that God is all hugs and love. No, God is awesome and something to be feared.

And yet, shouldn't the fact that God's existence has no major consequences itself raise a red flag?
So the fact that you wouldn't be here if God didn't create you in your mothers womb has no significant consequence on your life? Is your life that boring? Are you that depressed?

[/I]The idea that a being with immense powers exists, but never tampers with the world in a noticeable way is an absolutely childish scenario. It's “I'm not touching you” on a cosmic scale. Granted, we used to see a lot more evidence of god's tampering than we do today. Lighting, disease, floods, butterflies, the sun. I see, so you admit to seeing things that God created, then deny that God exists. Are you on drugs? If diseases are well understood why do people still get sick? I would also like to see you explain full the metamorphosis of a butterfly. Oh, and of course you have evidence of these big nuclear furnaces, right? I mean it wouldn't just be something that you read in a book somewhere would it?

The icing on this pathetic cake is that you realize all the OTHER religions are wrong, you just have a blind spot toward your own. Oh my mind is quite sharp. I'm not the one who is plagiarizing something off of the net and trying to pass it off as my own words.

You do realize that plagiarism is illegal, right?

I refuse to respect religious beliefs, and I refuse to respect the people who hold them. Your willful ignorance is inexcusable and it disgusts me.
Then why are you here? Why did you jump through the hoops of creating an account, answering a Biblical question that you probably had to Google to find the answer to, waiting for email confirmation, only to past plagiarized items on our board?
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Your utter lack of manners or class is repugnant to me, and even to most non-Christians. You come uninvited into a Christian church's discussion forum to spread copy-pasted hatred and insults . . . and can't even bother to write your own thoughts. Assuming you have any!

YOU, and people like YOU, are why atheists are the single most despised "minority" in the United States. Would you believe that Americans would sooner vote for a HOMOSEXUAL SODOMITE for President than an atheist, because you people have no morals, no class, and no sense of simple decorum, and are in no way trustworthy? Google it. I'm not making it up.

Thank you for proving that case. You lied and stole by plagiarizing someone else's work, proving you have no morals and cannot be trusted. You barged uninvited into this forum to share hatred and insults, proving you have no class and no decorum.

Pardon my vulgar language, but FUCK OFF, you self-absorbed, classless, useless ASSHOLE.

Re: A Message to Members of ALL Religions

First off, science is not right and religion is not wrong. Science is only right insofar as being able to say with some probability that these things have happened because an event preceded them and that in the future it will likely happen that way. Basically science is the best guess that "rational" people have.

Secondly, religion is not wrong. Rather in many instances religion speaks as to what science either does not or does an inadequate job such as the meaning and purpose of life.

Thirdly, religion has produced some of the greatest art and thinkers of all time. Micheangelo, Da Vinci, Kierkagaard, Kant, Thomas Aquinas, Thomas Moore, and Tillich just to name a few. To hold that you do not take any of these people seriously is absurdity. (You should also note that some of the founders of modern science Francis Bacon, Copernicus, Galileo, were all regular church going men)
Genesis 4:12: When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Numbers 35:19: The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

Nearly 99% of Americans, including literally millions of people far more successful and better-educated than you, believe in a god or gods of some sort, yet you do not. Not only that, but you feel a need to advertise it to others, and attack them for not disbelieving as you do.

Could it be that you've lost touch with reality? Maybe, just maybe, there is something wrong with you. Perhaps the fumes inhaled during your many hours as a "barista" (that is, a minimum-wage coffee-slinger) at Starbucks have corrupted your brain?
