Actually Io Freddie, we can see that changing one letter in a name did not result in a different name. If it HAD, you would have been completely confused by the words "Io Freddie" and would not have understood I was talking to you. Just like how I can understand you are referring to me when you refuse to spell my name correctly and insist on calling me "Lycra".

Stop being a silly pirate Jo Freddie. Have you been eating too many sheep pellets without drinking water.Originally posted by Jo Freddie View PostShow me a quote from the 1611 version that mentions Jesus.
Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

I see Lycra, refusing to answer the question, we can see by your example and mine that to change one letter in a name results in a different name.Originally posted by Lycra The Repentant View PostI dunno Io Feddie, what do you think?
So is the 1611 version and the son of "god" called Iesus?
or
Is the 1611 imperfect and the son of "god" is called Jesus?

Re: The only one true Religion
In the Epistles, men in leadership positions in the early church were expected to be married. Some 400 or 500 years after that the whole priest/celibacy thing was enacted.
Much of the Catholic Church's history has been about juggling earthly power through false accusations, bleeding people of their wealth through the promulgation of superstition and acquiring more and more property.
The Catholic Church barely existed a spiritual entity at all. Jesus's Blood is the cover for sins, not "magic" water so called because a priest mumbled a prayer over it. Human priests do not have the power to grant absolution of sins, (week after week) since Jesus offered a one time atonement.
Mary is referred to as the Queen of Heaven over and over again in Catholic liturgy and iconography. God didn't even establish any Queens over Israel, why would He need one for heaven?
The Pope is said to be infallible. This means he cannot make a mistake or misjudgment in matters of faith. But Popes are constantly correcting pronouncements from earlier Popes.
The Bible says that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. The Bible says not to add anything to its Holy words. The Catholic Church keeps adding and subtracting stuff to what its believers are to accept as being directly from God.
You admit that were some "dark times" in the Catholic Church's past. But you insist that it is a true Christian church now. The Catholic Church made the same claims of authority each and every year, decade and century for nearly 2,000 years. We are from God. We are of God. What we do is of God and is His direct will.
They made that claim when they tortured and burned and went to war and sold salvation back then. Now, they admit that those actions were wrong. And they claim that their modern, enlightened ideas are also of God and what they do today is His direct will.
Little hint, here-- when you admit that you were a liar, and then ask people to start believing you, you pretty much destroyed your own defense.
Non Apologetically Yours,
Handmaiden

Yeah that's called transubstabtiation. once again its symbolic your taking it too seriously. Also I found out that Freehold, Iowa is a fictional city. We believe that mary can be prayed to for intercession to Jesus. I don't know how to stress this enough , we don't worship her, we revere her as the mother of Jesus' human form. she is no where near considered a goddess.
