    Re: Stonehenge glorified

Stonehenge is a glorious place to dance and sing! It is a great place for feasting and fornication! Open up my pickinic basket and take out the sausage my dear!

    and then we sing:

"Baby if you just say you still care
    Follow you most anywhere
Roll away the stone, roll away the stone.

    And, in the darkest night,
Ill keep you safe and all right
Roll away the stone, roll away the stone

Wont you roll away the stone
Why be cold and so alone?
Wont you roll away the stone
    Dont you let it die"

    yeaaaaa!

    .
I am on the adventure of a lifetime! This is even better than the time I used the plastic stones!

Lord Almighty. I knew that this thread would draw Mr. Rocks-for-brains like flies to a nigra.

Are you ready to re-accept Jesus, for real this time? Dissolve your sand-eating cult now and repent!! Stonehedge is going to be dynamited into smithereens just as soon as we sweep our all-Republican ticket into office, just a few days from now. Count on it Stonehead.
      Who Will Jesus Damn?

So, then, you'll teach your child (or any future child you may have) about Jesus? It seems to me that eternal damnation is something bad.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. Van Helsing...you need Jesus. A LOT of Jesus and real quick too. By casting aspersions upon Jesus Christ and His chosen church you are also condemning your spawn to eternal torment by your side. Think of your baby and contact the Pastor and set up a basic Tin Tithing regimin to begin the long road to redemption. Do it for yourself but most importantly for your child. Jesus is waiting for you in Heaven and He's got a fresh pumpkin pie with your name on it.

I see no problem with it. It's a wonder because the stones came from many miles away and are gigantic. It's truely amazing from an archetectural viewpoint. Concerning the "mystical" properties of it, there's no chance in hell that some carefully placed gigantic rocks can do magical things. Archetectural-Amazing. Religious-God MUST have done it.

First of all the word "Gods" is offensive.
Second of all, a ring of rough rocks in Briton is hardly amazing. If you want amazing, come over and see my place some time. I have a heated pool.
Those rocks aren't even level. God created that place and was disatisfied with it so He left. The Wiccans and Satanists took it over almost immediately and it has been cursed ever since.

The same heated pool that your servants whisper have unnameable things floating around in there?
Yes, it is a wonder...a wonder that anyone still uses if for swimming and hasn't died!

And Marshall, I'd like to see you and the other TC men, with the same medieval tools as must have been available back then, make a replica of stonehenge. If you could, then I'll admit I'm wrong about it being a wonder.

You have just lost your challenge. I can make a replica of it using only stone age tools (this is WAAAAAY before the medieval period).

Fortunately you did not day 'duplicate', although it is quite possible that I could endeavour to accomplish that as well. All of the problems with duplicating stone monoliths are engineering problems, not challenges to the physical laws in force in this universe.

One day, Pastor, I just might take you up on that challenge. You claim you can do it? Well, get yourself a video camera if you don't already have one, and videotape this challenge being fulfilled.
If I see you (or a group of people you've given the instructions to) duplicate that in a reasonably short amount of time, then I will stop arguing and agree that I am being, to quote you, an empty-headed fool about this.

Back to the point. The Stonhenge circle is a world renound Satanic holy place, much like Meccas Hellbox. Because of this fact it should be dismissed from the list. As should any pyramid since they were made by Egyption proto-Satanists.

How stupid. The wonders of the world are named for being 'wonders', NOT being 'xtian wonders'.

Here's a valid question, Marshall, if you wanted all wonders of the world to be xtian icons, how many would there actually be?
And think about this really hard.

                          Watch that pottymouth hussy.

The sanctuary at Landover Baptist Church in Freehold is wonderful and it's not even mentioned on this secular list.

You realize a child can stack blocks into a pyramid right? A child can also arrange pebbles into a circle. What makes these larger versions better or more amazing? Because they are bigger? Get a million slaves together and you can make an enormous pointy pile of rocks without a single bathroom in it! How wondrous!

Jesus appreciates the finer things in life and a stone circle on a dreary island and a huge stone building with no windows ain't exactly high fallooting. Jesus deserves better and so does this list.

Well, you've just answered my question. If there were to be an 'xtian wonders' list, the amount of wonders on that list would be (not counting landover baptist church because it was built not that long ago and renovated in modern times) exactly ZERO.
Which, if you ask me, says an awful lot.

The wonders of the world list is not about who glorifies what. It's about significant architectural accomplishments for their time period.

If we were to eat babies and fornicate with goats and dance skyclad beneath the gibbous moon and mock at the Godly wisdom of the Holy KJV 1611, would it prove that wickers can do such things? Yes. Would it be in any way worthwhile? No.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

That isn't the point (besides those statements being untrue anyway )!
The point is that it's a great architechtural achievement for its time and deserves to be called a wonder.
