The University of Plymouth was previously known as Polytechnic South West. In October 2005, The Sun newspaper voted the University of Plymouth as having the most bizarre degree course in the country, the BSc (Hons) in Surf Science & Technology.

A few things, I'm not on that course all unis offer bum courses, and my degree tends to end up with you in rainforest researching and classifying, also exeter has the same course on offer and was rated #1 british uni last year and plymouth's in the top 60 which isn't bad.

Late 50 early 60s, I was at Yale, I’m retired now. I moved to South Carolina where much of my time was spent in the arms trade with a few forays into distilling and British American Tobacco. The latter was most successful and I showed my ability to please the shareholders by reducing labor costs. This earned me several bonuses and a large stock holding.

I moved to South Africa in the late 60s in an era of cheap and plentiful labor and then to Rhodesia where mining (Gold and Copper respectively) was my occupation. Things deteriorated in Rhodesia; Ian Smith faltered in his resolve and I found myself, through the then President of Uganda, of assistance to a well-known figure (now departed) in the Israeli government and later to the Shah of Iran.

After a few years living off my wits and a substantial inheritance, enhanced only by speculation on various strategic minerals out of the then USSR, I arrived in Sierra Leone, where I found much available wealth in diamond mining, and many willing hands to carry it out. Trouble started up and I became useful to certain people for my background in light arms and landmine procurement.

I left for Liechtenstein, where much of my finances were centered, and later The Turks and Caicos Islands before reaching home.
