While I agree with most of ilovegod.com's points, I must correct him about Galileo...It was the Catholic Church that told him to recant (which they have since repented for)-and no, it does NOT contradict "papal infallibility"-that doctrine only applies when he speaks on faith & morals.

As the dogma of papal infallibility in matters faith and morals was formally proclaimed at the First Vatican Council in 1870, it was a little late for Mr G.

Prior to this however, the catlick church relied upon:

And who could forget, Augustine saying, "Rome has spoken; the cause is concluded." Or Cyprian, "Would the heretics dare to come to the very seat of Peter whence apostolic faith is derived and whither no errors can come?"

I sit in stark amazement that (a) anyone ever agreed to become catlick (b) any educated person could remain catlick (c ) anyone who reads the Bible would ever be catlick.

Brother Bathfire, do you have any opinion on whether it's better to be a Jew or a Catholic? On one hand, the Catholics aren't responsible for the deaths of Jesus, the prophets, and all righteous people who have ever been killed, as the Jews are, but, on the other hand, 144,000 Jews are going to make it to heaven, compared to 0 Catholics, so the Jews at least have the odds on a decent afterlife slightly on their side of the ledger.

I’m intrigued by your question Brother Ahimaaz; it’s one I have never before considered. This is off the top of my head – take issue if you will. The only approach I could bring to bear would be a utilitarian one and largely it’s the difference in being hanged by an old rope and a new one.

The catlicks start a church to suit their need for slavering power and obscene wealth by the expedient of traducing the Word of Christ. They disobey about everyone of the Commandments daily and have done for 2 millenia. The Catholics have, by their false Gospel and immoral use of brute force, corruption and illegally gained power, condemned, over those years, more innocent and redeemable souls to the Fires of Hell than there are people on earth today. They’re much given to persecution also.

How they have kept under God’s radar so far I do not know – when was the last smiting of a tribe of Catholics – 16th Century in Britian?

The Jews killed and rejected Christ and continue to do the latter. Yet they keep, by and large, to ½ of the Word of the Lord. The Jews have condemned themselves to the scent of brimstone wilfully, so no great harm done.

However, there is the price of the Life of Christ. Yet Christ died temporarily. So the price is actually three days of His Life on earth. His Death and Resurrection made the meaning of His Ministry and proof of God abundantly visible – did the Jews jew themselves? Were they part of a Holy Design? No, of course they weren’t, would you trust them? They were just bitter bastards who thought they could keep the wealth of the Temple at its previously high levels – a marketing ploy – how cynical can you get?

But, as you point out and rightly – despite knowing of the crucifixion of Himself as His Son, God will admit 144,000 Jews to Heaven. (Is he ineffable or what? Praise!) As a percentage of the total Diaspora, were talking pro mille here not even per cent and they get regular pogroms when God thinks about them. Perhaps the 144,000 will be for the continuance of Jewish jokes in Heaven… but I speculate.

So taking the amount of good the Jews have done and the amount of good the Catholics have done, the sum’s nil, but God’s Magnanimity sways it for the Jews.

(That said, if one kike comes here and says anything, I’ll go the other way.)
