Okay well given that God breathed life into the nostrils of Adam and the name "Adam" supposedly derives from the Hebrew word for "red" or "ruddy" suggesting that his hair was red. Therefore if God gave a soul to Adam then he gave souls to other redheads as well. King David was thought to have red hair, did he not have a soul either? And just to be clear, I am a devout Christian.

Dear, Adam comes from adama, meaning Earth. And Adam was made of earth. You are twisting the meaning to accomodate your own beliefs. I used to do that. I'm also almost sent to hell by God (I'm 1/16 injun, a mixbred) and I can give you an idea: read the Bible, and pray harder for Him to save you. He might or might not save you, and you will not know until you are death. The path to salvation is really narrow, and I don't want to give you false hopes. I don't have high hopes for me, neither.


Adom is the word for red stuff, and it is more likely that Edom, the nickname given to the hated Esau, comes from that word. You know, he wanted the red stuff, and traded his birth right for it.

The Hebrew word for man [Adam: Aleph-daleth- mem] is linked to the word for ground [Adamah: Aleph-daleth- mem-heh]. The Hebrew word for red is edom [Aleph-daleth-vav-mem] and it may be connected to the same root as the words for man and for ground or earth. On the other hand, Iben Shushan in his Hebrew Concordance of the Bible ("Concordantzia leTanach") says that the word "edom" meaning red derives from the same root as "dam" meaning blood, i.e. red like blood. At all events edom does not mean brown. In Hebrew the word for brown is "choom" from which we have the name "Ham" (Cham) son of Noah.

"Admoni" according to the Concordance of Iben Shushan means inclined to red.
Both Esau and David were described as "admoni".

You know I have adressed this point in my previous post, don't you? The one before the one you have answered.
Adam comes from the dust of the ground, saying that he was red is stretch of interpretation.
Esau, in the other hand, had his nickname Edom and probably was redhaired. Guess what? He was hated by God for apparently no reason. God preferred Jacob, who was not red haired. And no, you have not proved that Esau had a soul.
A nickname is something that is given for a reason, sometimes physical, sometimes of character. A name is not.


As for Adam:


1) Do you know that there is a difference between having the same root and having the same meaning?
2) My first name means "protector of the realm". And I'm not protector of any realm.
