False Gods and Graven Images = Murder!

    The Second Commandment states:

Exo:20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

And, like the Second Amendment, and The Second Coming, nothing will change it!

And here, from England, cesspit of immorality and buck teeth, comes a story of demon possession
Frederick Gilliard jailed for killing wife with garden gnome. [edit EB: BUT NOT ANY GARDEN GNOME!!!]

A 76-year-old man who bludgeoned his wife with a garden statue has been jailed for four years.

Frederick Gilliard hit wife Josephine, 74, with a gnome in the shape of an Easter Island head and stabbed her at their home in Blackpool on 5 February.

He had previously admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at Preston Crown Court. Gilliard had told police he "just lost it" after having a blazing row with his wife of over 50 years.

    'Depressive episode'
He then dialled 999 and when police arrived he told them: "This is going to kill my kids. We have been married 54 years. I loved that woman." He was suffering from a "depressive episode" at the time of the attack, the court heard.
As clear a case of demon possession as you could wish for:

    Depressed = all hope of Salvation lost; estranged from God; soulless;
Demons = murder; false worship; graven images of foreign gods… it is all too obvious as you look back.

Oh, he thought he could handle it – he thought, “I’ll just sacrifice some small things every now and again” and then it started growing!

“Why don’t you stop going to church?” the demons would whisper in his ear.
    “Are you afraid of God?”
“Have you thought of Catholicism or Satanism?”
“Why not go out there and sacrifice something to the heads of Easter Island? – The gods would like that!”

And then – BANG! – before you know it, he has in his hands a statue full of demons – his face is hate and rage and he’s banging his wife over the head!!!

Oh, Man! How you are fallen!

I shall pray for his soul. I know the situation is hopeless, but I can but try. So sad...

Huh, I thought garden gnomes would be safe since they gnomes don't really exist.

I guess I need to do some smashing.

Some of the papers are saying it was this Gnome that was used...though maybe that was a different case...
