In the words of John Locke "people are the most free when they are governed least." you believe that free will is a gift from god and yet try to impose boundaries that restrict the exercise of free will. Also morality is a changing thing, what may have been considered moral 2000 years ago is not necessarily the case today, for example you would not expect to be stoned to death for failing to sacrifice animals to god as set down in the bible because most people would not have access to the animals they would need, they would in effect be victims of circumstance, much like the victims of rape who often are in the wrong place at the wrong time, these people did not purposefully temp someone to rape them and even if they had led them on it would not warrant rape. Just like seeing a commercial does not force anyone to shop at certain stores, you can walk by a restaurant without trying the food, and you can walk by a woman without trying to rape her, and if this person raped your daughter not only is he likely to rape someone else, but are these the kind of morals you want passed on to your grandchildren, that if a woman looks attractive then you should rape her? as her father you should be outraged at this foul and disgusting human being, a more appropriate action in this scenario would be acting as a good father to your child, getting her help with the emotional trauma that this no doubt has caused her, helping her to at least choose a more fit husband and father to her children that a rapist . this person could be dangerous, or mentally unstable. who do you think is more likely to tempt someone towards rape? your daughter? or the devil? being possessed this man might have seen fit to send your daughter to ruin so that the devil may claim her soul, you can't let this person corrupt her further, would Jesus want harm to come to your family?

Since rape is a form of assault, I think it would only be fair to be a little more understanding of the poor girl's hesitation. While the pregnancy puts a ticking clock on the whole situation, it seems like giving her time to recover from the ordeal is an important step. Now, perhaps I missed this, because this is a very lengthy thread and I don't remember all of it, but is everyone certain that the rapist WANTS to marry the girl? Is the rapist a stranger or someone she knows? All of this factors into how one should approach this very delicate situation.

That is completely irrelevant. The rapist is forced to marry the girl as punishment for the rape. God does not like rapists and put a clear punishment in the Bible. Not only should he marry the girl, but he is never allowed to divorce her as well. God clearly does not take rape lightly!
