I am appalled and ashamed to even share the same soil as some of you people. First off it states in the bible that sex alone is a sin if a man and woman are not married. So I don't know where you are all getting your information from, but it's totally twisted.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 & 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."

Friends,

I recently received a letter from a concerned parent. In the letter she told me that her daughter had been raped, but was refusing to marry her rapist as per Deuteronomy 22:28-29. The stupid girl actually wants to press charges on the man!

Not only that, but that she also plans to kill the poor unborn baby her rapist had given her! Sickening! Have young people today got NO morals?

Any and all advice on what I can say to convince this girl to do the right thing would be great. Should I start with the basics ?

"Whore, you'll burn in Hell for all eternity - unless you marry your rapist"??

Or should I go for a more subtle approach??

1. The people of this church follow the bible word for word. Literally.

2. Arguing what you think Jesus is with them is pointless, because since they believe everything in the Bible, EVERYTHING, they are some of the few people in the WORLD who can actually use bible verses without being hypocrites.

3. In this board, if you don't have the bible verse to back up your claim, you're pretty much wrong. All of these lovey-dovey images and ideas of jesus are wrong, because they stemmed from christians who cherry picked the good stuff from the bad stuff, which is what these people don't like. They take EVERYTHING from the bible, and believe it with frightening...umm.. enthusiasm.

4. I think they are terrible human beings for what they believe... but that is besides the point. What everyone has been doing is trying to fight in their territory. Since they believe EVERYTHING in the bible, you can't argue with them.. because they're technically right. If you are trying to convince them Jesus is a certain way, but an actual bible verse says otherwise... considering the opposing party actually believes the entire book... you're wrong, and they're right. So, I was brought up Baptist for most of my young life. I will say it was instrument to my not being involved in any devious activities as a young person. Now, on to this whole subject. Now take this into mind: does it not say, somewhere in the Bible, that we were created to rule above other animals? Do forgive me for not having the direct quotation handy, but you would all agree that I am correct in that statement, correct? A higher consciousness, one that is aware of a sense of morality, right and wrong, the ability to resist temptation, am I still correct? The male in this case is old enough to realize that not only is this girl underage, but is still incapable of making her own life decisions, and it was she who was subjugated to his will when he was a full-grown Christian man who should have resisted his desires and taken a more proper course.
