Missy, when you get to be 15, you'll realize that S_E_X is a terrible, painful experience but needed to make babies for Jesus. Yes, the disgusting act hurts but when the son is born, God will smile upon you for a few minutes. A son will be born, a gloroius male child, one that can go forth and multiply.
If a daughter is born, pray she is pretty and can clean.

No no no. What God wants is that IF the girl, and by extension her family's honor, is hurt, then the perpetrator should do everything he can to rehabilitate the girl.

If God's command, as it is written in the Bible, is not followed, then then girl and her family will suffer far worse consequences.

Friends,

I recently received a letter from a concerned parent. In the letter she told me that her daughter had been raped, but was refusing to marry her rapist as per Deuteronomy 22:28-29. The stupid girl actually wants to press charges on the man!

Not only that, but that she also plans to kill the poor unborn baby her rapist had given her! Sickening! Have young people today got NO morals?

Any and all advice on what I can say to convince this girl to do the right thing would be great. Should I start with the basics ?

"Whore, you'll burn in Hell for all eternity - unless you marry your rapist"??

Or should I go for a more subtle approach??

Are you out of your mind ? Do you have any knowledge at all about good and evil ? I mean I understand you need to follow Jesus and stuff like that but I'm pretty sure Jesus doesn't want a rapist to marry it's victim. Just wow.

Nonsense. Jesus loves the Old Testament. The New Testament quotes or references the Old Testament at least 900 times.
In the four Gospels alone, Jesus quotes or references the Old Testament 258 times.

Your conclusion is based on your own false interpretation of the Bible. Since we follow the correct interpretation (i.e. none whatsoever), we arrive at the correct conclusion that rape victims should be compensated.

Please explain to us why you feel that rape victims should be denied compensation by the rapist.

Indeed, Brother G=L. What this Godmocking atheist doesn't understand is that God set forth this law to protect the victims of rape!

dvdenco, let me lay this out for you.

Let's suppose you have a car. It's a nice, new, shiny car.

Someone comes along with a baseball bat and whacks it. Now, your car is damaged. You are the victim of a crime. Your property is damaged.

The law requires that the person who whacked your car pay to fix it, right? Do you believe that is right or wrong?

(I'm going to assume you believe it is right.)

OK, now imagine you have a daughter. She's a virgin, fit, well-spoken, a good cook, with a nice, intact hymen. You're in talks with a good family with a son who wants to marry her and raise Soldiers for Christ. Things are looking up!

Someone comes along and violates her. She is no longer a virgin! She is, in effect, damaged. Just like your car. You are a victim of a crime.

The man who violated her can't fix a broken hymen, can he? Of course not. She's no longer a virgin, and money can't fix that. That means it will be difficult, if not impossible, to marry her off. The family that was interested backs off. Even if you can find a man to take her, he certainly won't pay much for her hand in marriage; after all, how will he know for sure that her firstborn child is actually his? You might even have to pay him!

More than likely, you have not merely lost the lump-sum payment that you would be paid for her hand in marriage, but also you will now be responsible for supporting her as long as you live. Your marginal asset has become a liability.

You, the victim, must be compensated for the damage done to your daughter. This is why the rapist must pay you, and then marry your daughter and support her for the rest of her life (or the rest of his life, whichever ends first).

Do you now see how God is thoughtfully protecting victims of crimes? Requiring the rapist to pay you and marry your daughter is restitution for his damaging your asset!

This also provides protection for the damaged daughters. For, as Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 2:13-15 (that's in the New Testament):

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Women are saved in childbearing. How will your damaged daughter be saved, if she is never married off? This way, she is still able to obtain salvation.
