Yes, and the father DOES agree after being paid 50 shekels. Both parties agree, simple as that.

The marriage occurs after the rape. The Bible states that the rapist has to make amends by caring for the woman for the rest of his life. Since she is then his wife, she has certain obligations that stem from that.

So? We don't advocate legalizing rape at all. The Bible states, clearly, in fact that the rapist should take responsibility for what he did and make amends.

As an aside, once Sarah Palin becomes president, the laws will be changed to Biblical ones. Then homersexuals will be stoned to death as the Bible commands.

You are going to Hell. That, my friend is just how it is. Why not change it, eh?
I take my orders from Jesus H. Christ, supernatural born US citizen

Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
    Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Asking a Christian to prove God exists is like asking him to prove his phone rings because yours doesn't. Make that call yourself! Dial 0800-get-on-your-knees-and-pray.

Does that actually have to be paid in shekels? its the Word yah know but is there what ifs by God too, in case you forgot your shekels?

can you show me where God discusses other conversions?

That would be helpful to this debate we seem to be having, according to your Bible knowledge, mind you though I cant read, right?

If you cannot pay with the exact amount of money, you offer something of the rough value of it.

Exodus 22:2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
22:3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
When a thief does not have the money to pay back who he stole from, he can make up for it by selling himself as a slave.

          Failure.

No reference what so ever to this discussion.

You are implying that said parties sells himself as a slave in fact that is not possible because he owes the father shekels, and can not be a slave to the buyer as well as then being a slave to the daughter.

What? Where did it say the man had to become the fathers slave.

The man sells himself into slavery, the buyer pays the father the 50 shekels, and the daughter becomes the mans wife.

Right there, you quoted that he can sell himself as a slave.

Gypsy is correct, he can not sell himself into slavery to pay for his wife and be the wives slave at the same time.

This is a blatant attempt to twist Gods word.

Well, I'm not about to take the word of someone who's too stupid to figure out how to use a quote function, but please explain why he cannot be a slave and who ever said he would be the wives slave? She would still have to submit to him as a wife.

That would be a big problem wouldn't it. I guess the rapists master would be responsible for the payment then.

According to God you are correct and she should be forced to marry her rapist.

A lot of sinners would object to her being forced into being his sex slave but they fail to realize that it was her alone that asked to be raped and she now is obligated to follow Gods will and consent to his demands.

If someone raped my daughter (even though they can not, I have the only key) I would be wishing to kill that person, but according to God, I have to accept him and force my daughter to marry and submit to his desires.

I would then make him repent and follow Gods will and put it into Gods hands.

If he then rapes his own children I will then ask God why and learn from that.

I will then explain to my daughter how her own kids are also her brothers and sisters as of Gods will.

I am directed to Matthew 18:25 But forasmuch as hee had not to pay, his lord commanded him to bee sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

perhaps something of the sort might be arranged after the marriage? (the slave selling his new wife to his master as a concubine or something).

However it is important not to take passages out of context, so I must include Matthew 18:27 where we see a more favourable outcome (for the slave rapist); his master would nevertheless still have re-imbursed the rapee's father for his loss. That's how merciful our God - the only True God - really is.

Its sad when you see people who claim the love for God, to actually judge others for an experience they have never encountered. God is the only who may judge, and we must be humble like Jesus and understand where people come from. Rape is a horrible thing, that no woman should go through, a man can't bear to imagine it, and therefore should be silent.

                            And **sigh** again....

Don't read the Bible much do you. Oh why would you, you can't even be bothered to read this thread.

Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

2nd Timothy 4:1-5 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
