  • Put those kids to work!

My neighbor's wife works at home answering phones and caring for her children, but she's too lazy to do the housework so they have a cleaning service that comes once a week. I suppose she's earning some money, but at least she's at home with the children.

Today I noticed a little kid throwing out the garbage, but it wasn't the little boy who lives there, this one was a few years older and looked like a Mexican, not a Chinese. He could have been ten years old. When I saw him he was bringing the wheelie bins in from the street (today was garbage day) and then he and his mom left for their next job.

I was outside washing my Buick Riviera for Pastor Ezekiel so that it would be clean when he comes to pick it up. The neighbor on the left was outside, and she came over to me to point out that she thought that it was terrible for that mom to take her kid to work and make him work, too. She was going on about child labor laws and how kids should be outside playing, not cleaning houses. (This is coming from a lady with a 34 yr. old son who lives at home and doesn't work more than some odd jobs once in a while).

I just shrugged my shoulders and kept doing what I was doing, but what I saw was a helpful little kid who was doing his best to help out his mom and working hard so that his family can have food on their table. He wasn't complaining, either. I didn't think it would be right to say, "Look at your kid. He never works," so I just kept my mouth shut.

Say what you want about those Mexicans, but they do the work that Americans don't want to do without complaining. I can think of a few kids who I know who could use some solid labor to straighten them out.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I think the problem is that these Messican't are employed because they are cheaper than appliances.

I don't see the work you describe as entirely suitable for an American child - for a start the wages would be risible.

If an American child is to work, perhaps it could be as an actor in a wholesome Christian film, a life-style advisor for other minors or overseer to immigrant workers - basically something with the status and income to which he will become accustomed.

Brother Nobar, a thought just came to mind. Why not offer a FREE sleep away Bible and Military Prep School. Have classes from 9 AM till 2:30 PM, WORK till lights out weekdays, and WORK 9 am to 9 PM Sat with Sunday devote to Bible study and military drills. We could cut back on the number of classroom hours if we consider the work 'economics study'. I figure it would be non-profit, no taxes with only a enourmous salary to soak up revenue after expenses. There would be no entrance requirements. Drill instructors could run the 'economics classes'. I think we would require them to pack lunches though to save on overhead.

      Just a Thought.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
