My brother wants to get a Jesus tattoo, how can I stop him?

    Hi brothers and sisters,

My brother wishes to defile the body our Good Lord gave him by desecrating it with a tattoo of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on his forearm.

I believe the tattoo he is considering getting looks something like this:

    or like this:

What should I do to stop him besmirching his body with this tattoo?

Tell him that he will assure himself of a place in hell is he does.

How old is your brother? Why hasn't your local pastor done an intervention with him?
    Who Will Jesus Damn?

If nothing else works, you can always tie him down and lock him away in your basement, and keep him there the rest of his life. It might seem cruel, but remember, better a lifetime in captivity and an eternity in Heaven than a lifetime of freedom and an eternity in Hell.
      Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
      Praised be Your Glorious Name™.

      Amen.

Bang on his head with a Bible until he changes his mind about this.

Advise him that he should just get the text of Leviticus 19:28 tattooed on his arm instead. If he's stupid enough to go along with that, then frankly he deserves to be damned.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Re: My brother wants to get a Jesus tattoo, how can I stop him?

Leviticus 19:26-31 deals with pagan practices and God's prohibitions against adopting those practices. In verse 28, God is warning the Jewish people about a pagan practice at funerals, where pagans would mutilate/mark themselves to appease their false gods. The pagans hoped that by cutting themselves and marking images/symbols of idols on their bodies, that they would obtain favor in the afterlife from their false gods, both for themselves and for those who just died.
Unless your brother is trying to pacify a pagan deity, which he is not, it is safe to say this verse is not relevant. If you disagree, you must believe piercing ears are just as much of a sin. Something's telling me you don't...haha but who knows.
The right thing to do is to ask your brother to pray about getting a tattoo. Whether it's the right choice or not. And even to pray upon what kind of tattoo to get and where to get it when/if it comes down to it. Tattoos are not something to take lightly, but tattooing your body is not a sin.
As long as your heart is in the right place, as long as you trust and follow our Lord Jesus Christ, everything else just falls into place. Getting a christian tattoo can be a great way to show others where you stand, to remind yourself why you are here, to remind yourself how much you are loved, and a great reminder to steer you away from temptation. The same concept of my purity ring. Seeing it on my finger every day is a wonderful reminder of the meaning in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4.
Please let your brother read my message to you. Remember to have him pray greatly over his decision to get a tattoo. He needs to put a lot of thought into it considering it is a cosmetic surgical alter to one's body.

I will be praying for both of you on his decision.

Let me see if I understand what you said. You seem to think that YOU are somehow qualified to say what God meant in the scripture Leviticus 19:26-31. I had no idea that the word of God was up for debate. You either follow the word of God to the letter or you don't.

Amen, Brother Jimmy. It's amazing the mental gymnastics these false Christians have to put themselves through to justify their perversions and wickedness.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

So you want to stop your brother, getting a HOLY tattoo on his forearm? He'll be carrying the lord with him where ever he goes, The Lord, shall be there and have his eyes on him at all times, so he wont be sinning. Just be thankful he hasn't got a tattoo of naked women. Stop thinking negatively.
