The Tragedy of Kidnap Victim Elizabeth Smart

While young Elizabeth Smart was railing against religion on the stand this week ("He was his number one priority…. he used religion in all of those aspects to justify everything"), others in the courtroom and the jury of public opinion were wondering if perhaps she hadn’t in fact been thinner when first returned to her (Mormon) parents in 2003.

When Miss Smart was returned, she was no longer the gawky adolescent seen in the pictures flashed across the newswires for the year during her search. Instead, we were shown a slim, trim young lady with an admirably shy demeanor.

But where has that meek, waiflike young lady gone???

Miss Smart’s parents are making a grave mistake in thinking their daughter’s celebrity alone will win her a husband. Good Christian Menfolk look over prospective brides carefully for signs of coddling, self-centeredness, and projected cost of future maintenance.

It is for this reason that I beg Miss Smart to return to the simple diet and extra exercise she enjoyed in her year away from home.

Perhaps in her desire to “put the past behind her,” she has rebelled against every aspect of her “kidnapping”. But in my opinion, as one who's no stranger to the values True Christian™ Men look for in a helpmeet, Miss Smart would do well to return to that time's simpler lifestyle, at least in the area of diet, if she desires to become a good wife and mother.

I think Elizabeth is trying to win a husband by going into exacting detail of each and every rape, to let potential suitors know she is well versed in a carnal way.

I have not heard the decision regarding marrying the fellow who supported her out of his own pocket for all those months.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: The Tragedy of Kidnap Victim Elizabeth Smart

"Nine months of living with him and seeing him proclaim that he was God's servant and called to do God's work and everything he did to me and my family is something that I know that God would not tell somebody to do," she said. "God would never tell someone to kidnap her at knifepoint from their bed, from her sister's side ... never continue to rape her and sexually abuse her."
This is a blasphemous lie of the type I have come to expect from Mormons, who alter the Lord’s Holy Words and add to them in their Book of mormonics.

Nu:31:9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.
Nu:31:16: Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
Nu:31:17: Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

Nu:31:18: But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Notice how in the article, she also pins all the blame for the below matters on him, as if she couldn't close her own eyes??

"In previous testimony, she said during those nine months that she endured almost daily rapes and was forced to drink alcohol, use drugs and view pornography."

Hold it, whose idea was this?
Brian David Mitchell's defense contention that he suffers from an escalating mental illness and holds extreme religious beliefs that lead him to think he is directed by God.
Is this man denying Christs power by saying he has a mental illness?

Isn't this comment going against what Mormons believe?
"God would never tell someone to kidnap her at knifepoint from their bed, from her sister's side ... never continue to rape her and sexually abuse her."
I thought the Mormons (rightfully) did not believe in Rape in marriage. Where is she getting this information?

The tragedy is this girl is a Mormoon whore. She'll end up being someone's wife #13, if she's lucky.

If she's lucky. Mormon's teach their girls it is better to die than to lose their virtue.

The Prophet David O. McKay is quoted in President Kimball's book as follows:
" . . . Your virtue is worth more than your life. Please young folk, preserve your virtue even if you lose your lives. Do not tamper with sin . . . do not permit yourselves to be led into temptation. Conduct yourselves seemly and with due regard, particularly you youg boys, to the sanctity of womanhood. Do not pollute it."

The Prophet Heber J. Grant is also quoted in President Kimball's book:
"...There is no true Latter-day Saint who would not rather bury a son or daughter than to have him or her lose his or her chastity -- realizing that chastity is of more value than anything else in all the world."

Later in the book, Kimball again addresses the matter of Chastity with the elsewhere mentioned paragraph:
"Also far-reaching is the effect of loss of chastity. Once given or taken or stolen it can never be regained. Even in forced contact such as rape or incest, the injured one is greatly outraged. If she has not cooperated and contributed to the foul deed, she is of course in a more favorable position. There is no condemnation where there is absolutely no voluntary participation. It is better to die in defending one's virtue than to live having lost it without a struggle."
You know for a religion that is so wrong in it's basic statement of faith, they do get a fair amount of the day to day stuff right.

Her parents are trying to tidy up her image, like she's some harp-playing "little angel".

                Sorry. Don't buy it.

If he would just pay the 50 shekels this could all be over tomorrow.

She was his wife, they were married, she has no complaint. If the father has a complaint about the Bride price, that's something to take up in civil court.

I don't know what went wrong in the marriage, but her place is with him.

The first year is sometimes the hardest.
