As a true GOD fearing Christian, I make the greatest attempt to follow exactly what the Bible says. Thus, I absolutely agree with what my fellow "Christians" are saying on this thread and forum, however I am appalled by how many "Christians" on here flaunt the pork symbol illustrating their love of pork. How can you "Christians" claim to be true followers of GOD's word when you don't obey HIS word from Leviticus 11:7-8, "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you." I know that a lot of you are going to claim that GOD gave us the go ahead on eating pork because of what is stated in Ephesians, however in Matthew 5:17, GOD states very clearly that, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." It then goes on to say, "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." MitzaLizalor, you raise a very good point, science is about facts based on reality and evidence and im glad to hear someone on here not avoiding what science can tell us! but your totally right in saying science doesnt tell us why! nothing can currently be proven as 'right' when it comes to why, this is where 'faith' jumps in, its your faith that God smitten them (there is no evidence this is true), science mearly explains it , not why, that is philosophical question. There is no way of currently solving this argument as to the 'why' , as there is no evidence to support your belief above any other religion or philosophy. your answer must simply one of faith.

It's good to hear you admit that science cannot answer the important questions that faith can. Maybe someday when you are no longer satisfied with complete ignorance and living in darkness, you will become a man of faith like Jesus and me. Hopefully that day will come before you are flung like a sack of uncooked potatoes into the eternal flames of Hell, where your flesh will sputter like broiling meat for ever and ever. Glory!

wow im i going to have to very simply explain to you how reproduction works along side genetics, and the slight changes and mutations that occur in the copying process, otherwise everyone would look identical, the fact you look similar to your parents is because you were formed from their DNA, and if by chance something goes wrong in the process your are born with a disability, or a mirriad of other reason can go to explain complications with babies and adults!

Say I got a magnifying glass and, taking care to avoid direct sunlight, exanined your head — I could count the hair follicles and I'd know that the dart was stuck in your head 352 hairs above your ear. Next I could slice of some of your head to see whether the tip had pierced your skull; let's say it had. I could then use a microscope and measure the precise location of the penetration, such and such a neuron in the temporal lobe.

I might notice the proportional structure of the dendrites and be surprised to learn that they exhibit the same proportional structure as the structure of scales we consider "musical" — furthermore I might even be able to predict that the damage to the neuron pierced by the dart would render you tone deaf, but not if you were singing in the key of F# because tone perception in the hearing centres is organised in a very specific way. So we could probably predict that outcome (but would need a MEG to be certain). Or perhaps an electron microscope. All very interesting of course, but none of this means that you were not stuck by a dart.

When God smites children there are those who'd get out the electron microscope and dream up names for the structures they observed, perhaps notice some irregularities or discuss chromosomes, whatever but none of that means that this wretch had not been smitten by God.

In GENESIS 32 we read that Jacob's wrestling partner despaired of daybreak and

he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. KJV

so in the morning people would be able to see him limping. An x-ray image would show where the joint was smitten, how the tendon had been damaged etc., but none of that - however interesting - would mean that Jacob had not wrestled and prevailed nor would it diminish the magnitude of the smiting. It would be no more necessary to x-ray Jacob's hip to know that to investigate beyond the "Down's" facial expression to know that God had indeed smitten them and in His Inerrant Word we are even informed why.
