The Bible tells us that most are wrong.Originally posted by ilovethelandoverbapt View Post''All scripture is given by inspiration of God'' this I know he would agree with you on without question.
and quite possibly the rest of it,,''and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness''
but its the way in which you interpret the words that makes all the difference between a fringe religious cult on the internet and 99% of all other Christianity!
Matthew 7:14

''So what level of fanaticism has he reached?''
He hasnt , you lot have done all the work there, its like normal Muslims are tarnished because of the fanatical splinter group the al qaeda ! Thats not the normal way Muslims act, I know i used to live in a heavily Muslim area! a small minority spoil it for the rest! just as you are doing and the next wave of Fanatics will do once you have gone...

We don't interpret them; we simply read what they say. Interpretation is for religious liberals who first decide what to believe and then rework Scripture to fit.Originally posted by ilovethelandoverbapt View Postbut its the way in which you interpret the words
How is that not the fallacy of appeal to popularity? Salvation is not a popularity contest:that makes all the difference between a fringe religious cult on the internet and 99% of all other Christianity!
Matt. 7:13-14: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Why doesn't he follow God's words and correct us?Originally posted by ilovethelandoverbapt View PostI showed him this website, and he mearly said it saddened him that his brothers had become so lost and that it proves that with religion come fanaticism. You would have to ask him yourself, and that's not going to happen!! but he takes a slightly more academic or should i say adult approach to the story of creation, its more metaphoric than absolute truth.
2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
I think the coward know his position is ridiculous

Re: Down syndrome is a lifestyle choice!
Why should the creation account be read as a metaphor or allegory, and for what? Also, the Old and New Testaments both contain genealogies stretching back to Adam. At what point does a metaphor “beget” a flesh-and-blood human being?Originally posted by ilovethelandoverbapt View PostI showed him this website, and he mearly said it saddened him that his brothers had become so lost and that it proves that with religion come fanaticism. Furthermore, what is your friend's test for determining which parts of the Bible are metaphorical or allegorical and which are meant literally? If Genesis is metaphorical, why aren’t the Gospels metaphorical as well? In other words, if your friend is right about Genesis, why aren’t the magic-mushroom cultists right about the Gospels? In short, how can he be sure that any part of the Bible means what it says?

Re: Down syndrome is a lifestyle choice!
Your friend is deceived, then, by the modern trappings of convenience. As convenient as it is to believe evolution, what with all the so-called "evidence" in various labs and museums around the world, the centuries of scientific journals that seem to both foreshadow and confirm this hypothesis, and all the logical connections one can make should one be so inclined, it is still a lie and one that the Adversary likes to make use of. I personally do not have the faith to believe in this evolution. I have faith in Christ Jesus Crucified, and Resurrected.Originally posted by ilovethelandoverbapt View PostI showed him this website, and he mearly said it saddened him that his brothers had become so lost and that it proves that with religion come fanaticism. We are the Church that you cannot show to be Biblically wrong unlike your friend's cowardly bastardisation of God's word.Originally posted by ilovethelandoverbapt View Postwhat level in the Christian church are you? other than nobodies in a small religious off shoot of Christianity that rants at people on the internet about being gay, or hellbound ...

Yeah nice one,,the burden of proof is on me,,,,the burden of proof is on you to prove the expansion theory of the universe and how light is particles of photon...NO OF COURSE ITS NOT, its down to science to prove......man you guys are so backwards??
My friend how has recently graduated and become ordained, would NEVER EVER say the bible is wrong its his WHOLE life!! he raises his children the way of the church too! he has studied the bible to a very high academic level, and has a vastly different approach than you guys have! as do 99% of Christians i know and have met. Ps both of his children are 100% normal and healthy! and he believes he is doing right by god, and he cant think hes doing much wrong if God is allowing him to spread his word in his church, and he has a happy healthy family !
So would your friend agree with us that grass existed on Earth before the stars existed?
Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day

Re: Down syndrome is a lifestyle choice!
my friend who has been ordained and is soon to be a vicar at his local church, also knows evolution to be FACT and also loves physics and all the sciences! He mearly says its like looking into the almighty power of what God created. Which im fine with, atleast hes not that blindsided to FACTS, and this fellow is soon to be a vicar, and has graduated with high class honors in theology and bible studies. Now if a Christian can get that high up into the church as to be Vicar and know about reality and science its obviously not as big a deal as you guys are making out!
