In my experience, teaching is much more effective when it involves leading the student to discover the answer for themselves, instead of just telling them the answer. Of course, this requires a student who is willing to learn, and not just spout off showing how little they know about pretty much everything outside their own very narrow specialty.

I'll be sure to lower my expectations for the next "university astrophysics student" that visits this board, thanks to you.

That is exactly what i am saying. And to your example of how a scout should not act, neither do gay scouts. Gay scouts are just as likely to do something like that by force as a straight scout. Unless you can provide some statistic that says says there is a much larger amount of gay people in sexual offenses than straight people, i will stick with the latter.

Well, as from tomorrow both the US and British boy scout movements will become officially 100% unacceptable organisations for our decent young men.

In the USA, the Boy Scouts will formally accept openly gay boys beginning January 1, 2014.

Meanwhile, in Godless Englistan, from January 1 scouts will no longer have to promise to do their duty to God, although they will still have to promise to do their duty to the queen. This is tantamount to an open admission, by the way, that the Church of England - arrogantly headed up by the queen, instead of by (or at the very least, a man) - is also an atheist organisation.

I was trying to work out what the difference was between allowing gay boys (who are, by definition, atheists) and allowing atheists (some but not all of whom are gay) and which is worse. Perhaps a Pastor, or simply any man with his man's logical mind, could explain this?

Neither a gay nor atheist were suppose to allowed in the boys scout movement because this two violate the original scout promise.

Before he becomes a scout, a boy must take the scout's oath, thus:
