Saving the Gamertards

After reading this excellent thread posted by Brother Percy, it occurred to me that there could be gamertards at my own church or in my town, ready to snap! This brings up a few questions for me:

Are certain videogames more likely to breed violent gamertards? For example, I know that Super Mario Galaxies induces homosexuality; is it possible other games induce violent tendencies?

Is it possible to transition violent gamertards, who spend their time on the computer trying to kill innocent Americans in Grand Theft Auto games, over to Godly games like Left Behind?

How do you identify Gamertards, and what do you do to help them become productive members of society instead of pathetic basement-dwelling Emo losers?

At this moment there is no single evidence that playing video-games actually increases violence or other misbehavior. In society there will always be people who are emotionally unbalanced and then go out to kill people, whether this is linked to only playing games is very doubtful. After all, there are millions of players and only a very small part actually does something like those kids who committed murder in those schools. If you take that in a percentage it will be extremely low.

I'm a big fan of FPS (First Person Shooter) for years now, I started out with the original Doom, worked my way up to the first Quake, jumped on the Quake 3 multiplayer game later on and I'm currently busy with Doom 3 (which is quite scary to play). Do I feel the urge to kill?? Sure, sometimes. I surely enjoy shooting up Demons in Doom 3, it's very well done but still fiction. I admit to wanting to do it for real.

Look Duck, you Belgium so that understandable, you don’t live in the real world. However in the real world were I work and risk my life everyday for the good people of Freehold easily 60% of the violent criminals are regular video game players. After all the years I have put in for asset loss prevention and personal security work there is nothing more sickening that having to deal with some wannabe who thinks they are Rambo because they played Rainbow5 once too many times. It’s a good thing for my martial arts training because I can put them down easy and everyone goes home happy and alive this time.

Super-Mario turns normal kids into qweer rapists, who go out after playing this sick homersexual-game, and ass-rape other kids, giving them AIDs!! That's murder in my book!!

I've seen them down at the Mall, Bobby Joe. You can tell them a mile off. Walking around like Zombies carrying their Laptops in rucksacks on their backs, doing tours of the Game Stores looking for some new game to Worship.
