Sounds like those Gilded Age Captains of Industry, pissing their money away on charity. If Rockefeller and Carnegie had given their fortunes to Landover, we might be living in Christ's Millennial Kingdom right now. But, no. Small town public libraries were apparently more important. There's no more charitable gift that will have a larger benefit to humanity than buying Pastor Zeke a new jet airplane, or just handing him a check. Bozos will get the best possible return on investment, spiritually speaking.

Those small-town Carnegie libraries were a terrible waste of a fortune.

Bozos has over $100 billion. Certainly he could both buy Pastor Zeke an Airbus and also help Donald Trump who is down a few billion.

Now that the Protestant Work Ethic® is being overturned by woke entitlement (Roman catholicism) and identity politics (Roman catholicism) via a leftist (Roman catholic) supreme court and the new mantra of intersectionality (Roman catholicism) the retirement age could be coming down. That would increase the number of retirees, leading me to appreciate how important it is to provide an escort service. What type of aircraft fulfils this role? God sometimes requires an immediate response to needs arising elsewhere, on another continent, preventing the usual planning before takeoff. Several projects are in hand, here's one of them

The Committee held an emergency meeting over the weekend. There is good news.

It is that a big increase in Social Security benefits is scheduled to kick in during 2023. The Committee is confident every retiree will donate the increase to pay for Pastor Zeke's new jumbo jet.

At the meeting we did some calculations. Rounding off the numbers provided by the government, each Landover Retiree will receive an additional $3,300 a year. Multiply than times 1,000 retirees and we quickly have over $3 million per year toward the aircraft. That should put us on the path we've been waiting for, placing the order and scheduling the custom Airbus build.

The meeting closed with a prayer of thanksgiving. We knew all members, especially those who are retired, would be excited to hear they can help put us over the top. That is the reason for this report.

Maybe the reason God has been slow raising the funds for the new jet is because He has been waiting for something else to become available. A giant yacht... maybe? Or his own private island.

Yes, I agree. The Gospel is not second-hand or recycled in any way and the force of Its message needs to reach everywhere on Earth which would be impossible using unreliable transport. Maybe some pastors are happy with easy-access locations, an island in a lake maybe or a prairie landing strip, easy to get to and easy for crowds to turn up.

Reaching cannibal tribes or denizens of the remotest waterways, overcoming fierce ocean currents and electric eels (not to mention poisoned arrows) requires proper, purpose-built equipment. Reliable. Up to the job. Did the disciples footle around in other peoples' cast-off boats? No. They owned their own shipping, designed for the task in hand, built to spec. and reliable enough to provide employment for others. The real thing.

Perhaps less well funded ministries can handle the local stuff but there's a world of savage heathens out there, far away and waiting hear The Truth in these the last of all days.

Yes, I thought of a livery competition for than one still on the production line – but didn't want to speak out of turn. There's some rather nice paints available to choose from. It's important to make sure the factory doesn't catch fire or something, though, before getting too excited.

Another possibility would be a nuclear powered yacht. This model can stay at sea indefinitely and provided fish/seal/penguin etc. is adequate in an emergency, there wouldn't be a shortage of food.

That looks imposing. The prayer decks might be more useful too. An outboard prayer deck on an Airbus 380 at 300 Mph might have been a bad idea. (sorry Zeke for suggesting it)

I understand that there will very soon be a fire-sale of hardly-even-used ex-Russky mega-yachts, confiscated by the French/Monaquo governments from soon-to-be-former billionaires. Sometimes church members whisper to me the Committee should visit one of the huge airline boneyards, pick out something large enough for Pastor Zeke and have it outfitted the way he wants it. It would be so much less expensive they say.

That AN-225 is pretty awesome - like we could transport whole churches in that aircraft (not to mention the Bibles it could move). As to Zeke's A-380, Airbus is no longer making the aircraft.

I think Jesus would say that we would be "resurrecting" these aircraft - and He certainly would know about that.

As Christianity spread across Europe, leaders used the best transport. It's true that eventually (or as soon as possible more likely-ed.) charlatans took over and subverted what had been achieved into a second-hand ideology having very little (nothing -ed.) to do with Jesus. What those territorial gains promised was not the thing that resulted.

Now we can see that process repeating. It's a two pronged affair. First comes a preaching of The Truth where brave souls step out into foreign lands with a message of hope. Some people listen, others resist – but Europe and then-savage North America come to understand that Redemption is better than annihilation.

God made sure we'd understand He was serious about Jesus by having Him born in the usual way, rather than just popping into existence, reinforced by gifts from foreign potentates. High value gifts: at the time myrrh was more in demand than gold! but gold was included too. Imitation gold-tinted wood replicas? not so much. And somehow I don't believe the three who acclaimed Christ's majesty picked up a bit of tat at the nearest bazaar before presenting The Best to baby Jesus. Now there's any amount of tacky plastic icons & souvenirs available from down-market bazaars and meretricious gift shoppes, more or less as you'd expect in the millennium since Charlemagne.

To reintroduce the one true Gospel where savagery and unbelief have raised their heads once more, decent transport is essential. No tacky statuettes and soppy wall plaques. No C-minus gifts from a pawnbroker's passing by. Surely if God is the real thing He needs the real deal to represent Him.
