let me first start by saying i am a rational person, and am not here to immediately put down your beliefs and views, as i believe everyone is entitled to their own views
secondly, i would like to say that if this thread is to be deleted and my account is to be banned because of what im talking about, then so be it, but honestly, its very childish. considering a large amount of what goes on in this forum is NOT socially acceptable, but still allowed under freedom of speech and tolerated to a great extent, i believe it is a kind and wise gesture to allow me the same courtesy as is granted upon you, that courtesy being to say what i would like to. again, i am not here to flame your forums or trash talk you, and will refrain from use of obscenities and things of such nature.
let me start off by saying, recently, a skiing website got a hold of this forum, and, to my understanding, a great deal of harassing was recieved on your part, and for this i extend my greatest apologies, as i believe that is not the way to accomplish anything. i am a member of this skiing website, but i do not share the same values as many members in my opinion. again, deleting my thread on the presumption that some kid whos a gay skier is just a moron, is again, childish, and unneccessary
that all being said, i would like to attempt to rationalize with the members of this forum on their opinions of skiers, freestyle in specific. while i understand many of you have had a less than amazing experience with us, please don't think of us in a bad way, as we are not bad people.
i do have to admit, and i will try to use constructive criticism as much as i can, that i am quite taken aback by some of the content of this forum. while i understand it is your right to say what you want and to do what you want, i think the thought focus on this forum is astoundingly self centered. your premise is that you, obviously the majority being white american males, are much better than the rest of the world. my question to you is this. when we were choosing who we got to be when we were born, do you think that starving children in Somalia just showed up late? obviously not because that is obviously absurd. we never got to "choose" who we want to be, and therefore saying you are better than someone else is a little bit harsh, as they can't exactly help it, can they? to me it seems along the same lines of trying to make fun of the sky because its blue. good luck doing that....
youll notice i havent denounced your reasoning that the christian religion is far superior, only that saying it is in comparison to others is a little far fetched
i mean, im sure you all love living your lifes under the love of god
but for some reason, all i see when i come on here is grown men and women acting like 3 year olds kicking sand in each others face
let me give you an example:
situation:
your forum is being harassed by a group of young skiers who see it as a fun game to poke fun at you and to denounce your beliefs
rational solution:
kindly ask the skiers to keep an open mind, to understand everyone has different beliefs, and that we all must learn to get along, as fighting doesnt solve anything
your solution:
ban the skiers, make fun of the skiers, make several threads denouncing their sport, call them gay, call every skier homosexual, say that they are all sinners for what they do and that they are going to hell.
if you agree with the second solution, then so be it, as, as i stated, i am open to your beliefs and opinions
however, i think, in my humblest of opinions, that it is wrong
hitting your wife, hitting a woman, calling people homosexuals, being INCREDIBLY prejudiced towards people of other races, calling them "chinks" and i won't even go into some of the other obscenities i saw while reading, and things along these lines... none of these things are putting us forward.
think about it
are you making any of these skiers happier
are you happier
are any of the people you hit, make fun of, or call names happier?
if you want us to have an open mind about your religion, church, and mindset
than i suggest you first of all have one about ours, and second of all realize that what you do and say to us is not helping anyone or making anyone happier or better off and CERTAINLY not more accepting of your religion, church, or practices
i could probably talk for hours on subjects like this, but to save time and my fingers, ill stop now
i do have many other issues that i wish to address, but i figure ill speak of one discrepancy at a time

to the thread about the sun being 500 miles away:
your math is flawed and doesnt make much sense... also, its not
i can't even think of where to find theories to disprove you because its a pretty basic concept, but ill still see what i can find

to the cucumber thread in the existentialism forum i believe:
cucumbers in nature rarely grow straight and large like the ones in the supermarket, more often being twisted and skinny, with random size differences, not perfectly shaped for the hand as you stated
