    Menstruating: a sin?

Dear fellowship, I have need of your advice

As we all know, when Onan spilled his seed God was displeased and slew him¹.
When a woman menstruates she spills her eggs, does that mean she is committing a sin as bad as Onan's during that time of the month?

Of course the Lord has given us an easy, acceptable and failsafe way to prevent this period of uncleanliness: pregnancy: married women will never have to deal with the problem. However, one of my daughters is now 11 years old and I fear she may soon start menstruating and she is not married yet

Should I find a good Christian husband for my daughter before she repeats Onan's sin or does God allow unmarried girls to have this filthy period every month?
    Leviticus 26:15-16
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

      Re: Menstruating: a sin?

No, menstruating in itself is not a sin. Otherwise all women would be pretty much damned to Hell (as opposed to 99% of them who are not True Christian™ of course). There are however many rules that God has ordered regarding menstruation.

Lev. 15:19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

So when you do get your period, make sure you are isolated from everyone else for seven days. Many True Christian™ women have sheds out in the backyard to stay a whole week in expressly for this purpose, but those who can afford it usually stay at special bed & breakfast's designed exclusively for women on their period.

Menstruation is something completely natural and essential for reproduction. I don't see that it could possibly be a sin.

Well you do it then Nancy!
I for one am more than happy I am not a female and thus cursed with a filthy discharge once a month. No matter how nice it is a menstrus shack is still a shack. I'd rather be hunting or driving a Deere than secluded until my dirty time was over and I saw fit to be decent enough to be in public again. I mean how embarrassing?

My take on this is that menstruation is just part of the whole birth in agony curse imposed upon womankind after Eve messed up.

So menstruation is not a sin, it is instead, a punishment for a sin.

And not just any sin, the FIRST SIN.

                  Re: Menstruating: a sin?

Our Lord has thought of everything! He gave us the ingenuity to keep ourselves safe by adding odorant to our natural gas (which is otherwise odorless) so we'd know if we were in danger. Similarly, God gifted men with the ability to know when their wives' unclean time was drawing near. The telltale signs are clear and wives who try to hide it usually find they cannot as the noxious issue is also endowed with a God-given odorant as a warning to men to avoid defiling themselves by unwittingly being in close proximity to a woman thus afflicted. Shout Glory! God has thought of everything for us, His children! Now that's what I call love!

5But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
6And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman, ...

It's called the endometrium. Once a month it breaks down if fertilization doesn't occur.

As a matter of fact, it is COMPLETELY natural, and you wouldn't be able to have your precious children without it. It is not a curse, it's simply a natural process of the body. The blood discharge doesn't come from the bloodstream, but from the uterus itself.
