    Uganda's controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill

Uganda's controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill is likely to be changed, a minister has told the BBC.
However, Deputy Foreign Minister Henry Okello Oryem did not give details of how he thought the final bill would be different to the current proposals.
Uganda has come under intense international pressure over the bill, which provides for the death penalty for some homosexual acts.
Mr Oryem was speaking after US leader Barack Obama called the bill "odious".
It has also been condemned by various European countries.
    ANTI-HOMOSEXUALITY BILL
    Death penalty
For "serial offenders", HIV-positive "offenders", or those engaging in homosexual activity with a minor or disabled person

    Life in prison
    For homosexual acts

    Seven years in prison
For helping, counselling, or encouraging a person to engage in a homosexual act

    Fear over gay death-penalty plans

"I am sure the bill will take a different form when it is tabled on the floor in parliament," Mr Oryem told the BBC's Network Africa programme.
However, he also pointed out that it was a Private Member's Bill and so the government did not have the powers to alter it at this stage.
"Homosexuality is not a top priority for the people of Uganda," he deputy minister said.
"Our priority is to make sure there is food on the table of our people - that we deal with the issue of disease."
Homosexual acts are already illegal in Uganda and punishable by up to 14 years in prison.
The bill would raise that penalty to life in prison.
It also proposes the death penalty for a new offence of "aggravated homosexuality" - defined as when one of the participants is a minor, HIV-positive, disabled or a "serial offender".
Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has already distanced himself from the bill, saying it did not represent the views of his government.
Two weeks ago its sponsor, David Bahati, told a Ugandan newspaper he was willing to "amend some clauses".
The cabinet has set up a committee to look at his proposals.

Our very own President Osombo call the bill odious. If you ask me they are on to something! Maybe we should have laws like this in America! I think when Sister Palin is elected we just might!

We can certainly pray it is so Brother but people are to greedy and hateful these days it is doubtful it will happen. No one cares about each other like they use to so not enough Americans care that homosexuals are hurting themselves with their life style to pass a law like Uganda's. America has become a nation of selfish, viscous people who have no empathy for anyone else and it breaks my TRUE Christian heart.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

It looks to me like the liberals have gotten to the jungle tribesmen in Uganda who were about to pass a fairly good set of laws regulating their queer problem over there. What a shame.

It is sad Pastor. It really seems like the Left just wants to see people hurt themselves.

Amen Pastor,I hope that I am able to live long enough to see laws like this come to pass for our country. It will be a step in the right direction to seperate these Godless souls and to get them from corrupting our youth even more.Praise and Glory be with Jesus.

It's indeed embarrassing to see such a backward African nation be on the forefront of coming in line with the spirit of God's laws and the Bible (KJV1611). Even our Kenyan President does not have the vision and leadership to put forth similar laws in this country. African homerism has seen God send the punishment of rampant AIDS and the world is now criticizing them for stepping up to do something about it.
              Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
              ...and get off my lawn

                Re: Uganda's controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill

I checked some information about Uganda, and it showed up that its actually a CHRISTIAN country, PRAISE!!!
Do you also think that Pastor Martin Ssempa would be a good representative for Landover in Africa?

Martin Ssempa (born 1968) is an Ugandan pastor and activist, founder of the Makerere Community Church. He rejects separation of church and state, opposes the usage of condoms to prevent HIV contraction and supports abstinence plus fidelity education in the fight against sexual diseases. Ssempa claims to be leading a crusade to "kick sodomy out of Uganda, endorsing proposed legislation in Uganda that makes certain homosexual acts punishable by life in prison or even, in some cases, death."

Do you see the poster in the background in the beginning? Its the American and Ugandan flag with a text saying "In God We Trust"
(and other beautiful messages like "Barrack Obama Back Off" and "Parliament Unite Against Sodomy", "Africans Unite Against Sodomy" etc)

                Facts about Pastor Martin Ssempa:

                Born:
                1968 (age 42–43)
                Nalusali, Uganda

                Nationality:
                Ugandan

                Occupation:
                Pastor

                Religion:
                Christian

                Spouse:
                Tracey Ssempa

                  Re: Uganda's controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill

I was over there lobbying for that law! All that hard work down the drain!
                  Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
