Re: POLL: Freehold Man of the Year!

Late today, several of Mayoral Staff came in to see me. They closed the door.

They wanted to know if I had sought guidence from Jesus, or, from the Bible when I set up the Freehold Man of the Year event. I could hardly look them in the eye. Back when the event was first planned, I considered it to be a secular thing--something Mayors did as a matter of course. Somehow, the wisdom often provided me, that there really are no secular events, had escaped me.

I think the staff is slowing getting to the bottom of what happened in the Freehold Man of the Year Event.

I thought one of the sub-rules was that, in the case of a recount, the costs of the recount will be deducted from the winner's check.

You may have to send your checkbook with the houseboy to reimburse the city should the costs exceed the winner's prize.

For the sake of transprarency, I will keep the citizens of Freehold up to date on progress in the investigation of the Award for Freehold Man of the Year event. City staff members are working through this holiday weekend to finish the review of what happened.

The first report they handed me involved the rules of the contest. I note with some interest that those who are Pastors or carry the title of "Rev." were to be excluded from running.

Having noted this, I wish to assure all involved that this is not the final decision in the matter. Many other factors will be reviewed. My hope is that thing will be resolved in short order.

    Johny Joe Hold, Mayor

@all I did everything for this poll all by myself, so I am sure there has been no cheating! Again, congratulations Pastor Ezekiel!

Praise Jesus! All I can say is "I told you so."

I'll send my houseboy over for the check.

Fixed that for you, Your Honour

ie. suck it up DeWitt. Calling "shenanigans" in Freehold is like pissing into Hurricane Earl. This is just the thin edge of the wedge. GOD doesn't run a democracy . A theocracy is totalitarian in nature, beholden and benevolent only unto those who have the power.

Congrats, Zeke, on your new-won title. Give yourself a new award to go with it. Wear it with pride.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who participated in the Freehold Man of the Year event.

The results are now in. There is some question about events which took place just before the end of the polling period. Mr. James DeWitt has asked for a Mayoral Inquiry into the matter. To accomodate Mr. DeWitt's request, I must suspend the results of the polling until the Inquiry is concluded.

I am pleased to use the good offices of the Mayor for this purpose. A thorough inquiry will be conducted. It will begin with a review of the election rules. Then, the campaign activities of all involved will be examined. Following that, the integrety of the votes and voting process will be reviewed in detail.

At the end of this process it will be possible to name a Freehold Man of the Year with no remaining questions about his legitimacy for this covented award.

    Johny Joe Hold
    Mayor

I think Pasta Boy was concerned because the rules said that Pastors were disqualified from the running.

Pasta Boy has forgotten that Zeke is a SENIOR Pastor.

    Well Rev Rodimer,

I just saw the stats and it seems there was an overwhelming overnight vote surge for Pastor Ezekiel.

In MY heart of hearts, James IS the Freehold MAN OF THE YEAR! Admittedly though if Jesus had been on the ballot, I would have voted for Him.

I am actually wondering why Jesus was NOT on the ballot come to think of it, considering our wonderful community would not at all be possible without Him!

Rest assured though Rev. Rodimer, James can expect a lovely celebration party when he gets home tonight!

I would like to congratulate Brother James on his clear and decisive victory! Freehold's new runner up Man of the Year! Phebe must be so proud!

And also congratulations to Cranky and Nobar for tying for second place runner up Man of the Year!

I'll be sending all three copies of my new book, Parking in Rear: Ten Years of Truck Stop Ministry.

Pastor Ezekiel, of course, already has a copy. He wrote the foreword, and got it printed by the Landover Baptist University Press!

But the same is not true of A Mayor, like Johny who set the rules in the first place then?

I am Sure Jimmy will take comfort in this news.
